Rafa or Gaudio?

Rafa = Fed Killa
04-21-2006, 01:47 PM
2005 RG winner vs. 2004 RG winner.

Should be close.
I think Nadal will take it in 2 close sets. 6-4, 7-5

Possibly the best post ever written.

Your parents must be proud.

I'll be cheering for Gastón but I think Rafa will win quite easily

Nadal easily.

I'd like to see GG brings his top games to trouble Rafa. But still talented Rafa will win this in straights. He's just too good on clay, even for Roger.

Gaudio has a tendency to quit when he is down, i hope he gives it his all, make Nadal earned it.I dont know if Gaudio will do that though.

If Gaudio could somehow receive style points he would win the match. Without them, I have to go with Nadal.

I think Rafa will win in straight sets. It won't be an easy match, but he'll come thru and outclass Gaston.

I think it depends on which Gaudio comes to play. The Gaudio of today against Tommy played about as well as I have seen him play in a while and was all there mentally. If that Gaston comes to the court I actually think it is a toss-up and GG could win. But if the...shall we say... more mentally fragile version of Gaston comes to play, then it's Nadal because I can't see Rafa letting someone get back into the match the way Coria did in 2004.

This match isn't going to be close.

I'm going to say Rafa, after completely misjudging the Coria match, and thinking he may actually give Rafa a challenge, I was proved wrong. Soo, I think I'll go with Nadal, 100%. Easy. I do however hope for a challenge.

My thoughts exactly.
Brain says Nadal, heart says Gaston.

I noticed that Nadal has the same tactic as in the hardcourts as in clay, stay way behind the baseline, i still dont know why players dont use the Blake tactic, come foward and smashed the forehand.

That is because a) they are not Blake b) clay wil slow down the ball enough for Nadal to get it back most of the time.

Well i hope that streak is snapped on sunday :D , i think a chip n charge game would be nice against Nadal.I think Coria was so taxed and tired, he said it after the match.

interesting about this stat for rafa, 40 wins on clay, off course 1 of only 2 players to beat him on clay last year before this big run was Gaudio..
but i can only see a straight set win for Rafa here.

Nadal is to clay as Federer is to grass. He's the best. No one can beat him even when he's on his 'C' game. I think he'll win easily, but Gaudio will make it difficult in at least one set and make at least one of them go 6-4, 7-5, or 7-6. I'm thinking like.....6-3 7-5

Gaudio at the top of his game can push Nadal, but Gaudio will quickly pushed out of comfort zone by the relentless Rafa.

6-4, 6-2 OR 7-5, 6-2 for Nadal.

:o

I won't make that same claim for Federer on grass though.

Last year they played here, it was an easy win for Nadal though I remembered Gaudio did have one win vs Nadal on clay last year with some bizarre score too?

I just hope Gaudio can come out and put on a good show on his favourite surface :)
