He should've retired. He's hurt and he's hopeless, he doesn't like to give up and may be there also to show some respect to Nadal and the crowd, but there's no need for that IMO.

Well Guille, I just hope he gets his serve and confidence back, the rest will come along as he clearly still has the game. He could've done much better in this match, but I guess it's already too much that he got to the QFs with his previous showings.

On Nadal's serve, Coria has done well to get points. Getting to break points often. It's on his own serve where he just gives away the points. It's disappointing because he would be so much better if he would fix that damn serve.

yeah, he had energy for about the first 2 games. but look, imagine how much it drained him to make those two long comebacks & deal with the pressures inside that were causing them in the first place. first came the loose errors and then not even chasing a ball out of reach. but he was nice enough to finish instead of withdrawing as it seemed he would at 1-0 in the 2nd when he had the doctor check his blood pressure. i think he was going to faint.

Nevermind. Monte Carlo shows Coria is back t the game called tennis.
If he was back to the game called service, would be soon very well for him, and not well exactly for his opponents. I believe he can get a shape and be ready for a Roland Garros, and especially tournaments int he second part of claycourt season, when many good players will be already facing hardcourts.

I see a chance for him in powerplace events like Umag and Sopot.

The scoreline of the first set is misleading. Many games went to deuce and they played for 42 minutes. But Nadal is simply amazing. In the second set, Coria was exhausted and there was no match. In any case, I'm happy with Coria's performance in this tournament.

Umag and Sopot are the places where devil says claycourt-goodnight. They both rock, however I've never been to Umag at the time of the tournament. But i've seen the place and heard enthusiastic comments.

Yeap. I watched their other Monte Carlo match in old times when Coria was a 'red-hot-one-to-watch' while Nadal was Mister "Who is he".

The score was all way different :)

Mago will be back anyway... But he doesn't retire from the matches even if he's not doing well or when he's injured. He retired for the last time once in Canada, it was in 2004 I believe.

And this is Coria shooting Nadal , he did it to say that is the only way of winning against him :)

You know Betty reported he was very nice with the kids and in the matches in MC I saw he wasn't whining or complaining or anything like before. I haven't been a fan but I've actually always had respect for him and I sure have even more respect now. :yeah: I think he's 'grown up', 'matured' with these shoulder problems perhaps.
