Nadal will kill him.

Both don't make the most stable impressions. Nadal is also not completely breezing throught, even though his scorelines look somewhat convincing. If Coria has again serve troubles, I expect Nadal to be just too good because Nadal will use such opportunities and Rafa should win in two. I think. But truth is on the court, so lets see!

Coria should let Nadal serve all the match.

Anyway, I don't think Guille has any chance at all. I just hope he can play a decent match.

Coria can hit 20 dfs and still win the match. It just depends WHEN he hits them. If he hits 15 dfs in the first set and loses it 5:7 he still might win the 2nd and 3rd set. I am voting for a Coria win.

That was against good ole Kiefer. You give Nadal 20 free points on clay, you're asking for a beatdown.

Watch him not hit a single double fault. ;)

Nadal.

However, with no pressure Coria may play better. He probably expects to lose this match.

If Coria stops with the double faults, then he has can give Nadal a three set battle. If there are a bunch of DF's again, Coria will be lucky to win 3 or 4 games.

cornellboy
04-20-2006, 06:53 PM
I don't think that Coria can be consistently aggressive (or aggressively consistent?) enough to really challenge Nadal. So unless Nadal kinda self-destructs on court, I think that we'll be seeing Rafa enter the 40s

In other word, Nadal 6-0, 6-0 huh! :o Asking Coria to stop DF is like asking a homeless man for financial advice! ;)

with coria's serve in the state its in, its hard to have any idea to 'predict' his performances, but everyone pretending nadal is so invincible is the enjoyable thing to read here. he's not so great. so far this year, he's already lost to clemente, blake, and was drubbed badly by moya. and this his first clay event of the year. he isnt in the drivers seat against anybody.

the difference between rafa last year & this is that now he knows fear and pressure & last year he didnt. now he is beatable by lots of players, so get used to that new idea. and he's never beaten coria in straight sets.

if coria doesnt double fault in any definitive way, HE'S the one winning every point played out there in these matches, not nadal. that gives him a great fighting chance.

I predict Coria will hit 26 DFs. Scoreline will either be double bagel, bagel and breadstick, or double breakstick. Rafa's a baker. :p

After the last 2 Coria's matches anyone can predict he will win even with 26 DF ;)

Coria wont be throwing DFs tomorrow. He's the underdog now and the pressure is off.

Last year's Nadal would have bagelled the current version of Coria, this year's Nadal will win 3 and 3.

Well, we'll either see the most rediculous QF match and Nadal have the easiest win of his 8 peers with a 6:0, 6:1 or Coria will be hypnotized tonight and have the return of his serve for tomorrow and actually challenge Nadal......

Seriously, all depends on his serve, if he still make 20+ DF Nadal will not forgive him, but if he serve like a regular player, i think he has a chance to beat him.
So, lets pray for his serve to be decent. http://www.phoenixclan.biz/pxcforum/html/emoticons/pray.gif http://qfh.rdcss.com/skins/Plain/emoticons/pray3.gif http://www.phoenixclan.biz/pxcforum/html/emoticons/pray.gif

This is a great match-up. I think Nadal will win, but I don't think it's going to be as easy as everyone is predicting. Nadal hasn't had the easiest matches, his last one lasting almost 2 hrs despite having a good looking scoreline. Coria hasn't either, what with his serving and all, but he's a scrambler.

All I know is that Nadal + Coria = Awesome clay court tennis :worship:

I think this could be a good match. Like Chloelove and some others, I don’t think it will be a blow-out. I predict that Coria will still have some problems with serving (shocking! I know…in other news, the world is not flat) but that the other part of his game will be pretty darned strong.

Nadal has been playing rather sloppy and meh his past three matches. He is not playing horribly, but frankly is not playing that well. I would give his play a grade of C. However, his past three opponents do not have the inherent talent on clay that Coria does and he was not really tested [I]that[I] much. I think that Coria will push him more and Nadal may finally start to bring more of the stuff we saw last year. In Nadal’s last game today we saw a drop shot and crosscourt forehand winner that were a’la 2005 so the goods appear to still be there…they are just chilling for now. I think that his match with Coria will wake him up so to speak and with that, Nadal will win.

But who knows- Coria could still ride this crazy record double-faulting but still winning roller coaster and pull out the W.

My main hope is that it is a good match and both player bring some quality stuff.

I think NADAL will win easily

I wanna know HOW easily will he crash Coria, if it will be doble 6-0  , or something like 6-2, 6-4, if Guille has luck

sO, Sadly, I predict a RUNOVER , Nadal will CRASH Coria, and Coria stands no chance against him

( too bad the wont give us a nice show like Montecarlo last year, or even better, as Rome last year)

Poor Guille

Please Guille: less than 10 DF this time!!!!!

The trend may reverse itself and he may serve MORE than 25 DFs this time. How is the pressure NOT on him? He is playing the best clay courter of this era.

I would crap my pants against Nadal. Not only does he get everything back, but arms are so huge, he's an intimidating presence on court.

I also agree with Chloelove & co.

Judging by their former matches and given the fact that Nadal has not (yet) found his ultimate clay court level, it could be a tight match and the result could go either way.
In the previous matches, Nadal was sloppy at times. He was able to step to a higher level when needed but a motivated Coria on clay is still much more of a challenge than Vliegen or even Clément.

Coria vs Nadal matches are fun to watch, so I hope this is a good one. I like both players a lot but...Vamos Rafa!
