Congrats Juergen. He arrived at Houston with an 1-8 season record, he really seems to like playing this tournament.

Has the world gone mad!

His second tournament final and his best showing in a TMS were both on clay, unsurprisingly both in German-speaking events, and he always performs well in Houston. Clay is a good surface for him, bearing in mind he moves well on it and his dropshots can surprise a lot of players. I hope he can break his duck tomorrow, perhaps that will finally give Tennis-X something better to say in reference to him than those dire "'Tuna' Melzer" puns.

This result was expected. He could beat Haas in the final.

:D YEAH, great job, Jürgen! :bounce: Just what I hoped for at the beginning of the week to turn around his crappy season!
I was very glad to see this result! :yeah:

This equation works sometimes ;) He doesn't have an outstanding good surface, nor an outstanding bad one (maybe indoor he could play better).

Bush is in power isn't he?

Melzer! :yeah:

:yeah: Keep up the good work Jürgen. Either a singles or doubs win... I'll be happy either way, though he's made us wait too long for a final / title in singles :p. (And his ranking needs to start going up instead of down  )

You mean Mardy. :)

It's a weird week with Simon v. Almagro; Fish v. Melzer finals on clay. OK, Almagro is a claycourter, but the other three not so.

But great job for Jürgen! I am really happy for him and I hope he can take the title!
