Too much negative energy might actually help him ;)
And he didn't hit marat, it's just a bad behaviour, he's known to be like that. The behaviour might have disturbed marat a little, but he must have been more worried about the ankle (and also loss of rythm. He was beating Almagro in the set, in spite of the behaviour).

atheneglaukopis

As a native speaker of English, I feel the need to clarify what the problem with the title is. It's not the meaning; it's the fact that "hurted" is not a word (except, very rarely, to be cute, as someone pointed out). It sounds like baby-talk, because children make that same mistake. The normal way to form a past tense in English is to add "-ed", but "hurt" isn't a normal word. The past tense of "hurt" is "hurt". So if the creator of this thread would like to change the title, "Safin hurt his ankle" would be the correct way to say it, and it would not mean that he did it to himself, just that it happened to him.

Some English words that work like "hurt" in that their past tense is the same as the present: beat, bet, bid, burst, cast, cost, cut, fit, hit, hurt, let, put, quit, rid, set, shed, shut, slit, split, spread, thrust, wet. (I included "hurt" again deliberately in case anyone wants to copy-paste.)

Mocking people whose native language is not English is uncalled-for. Non-native speakers should go right along using English, asking for help if they need it and not feeling ashamed, and ignoring anyone who makes unhelpful comments.

 to Marat. We want to see you and Nadal facing off against each other, so get well soon (also because we heart you).

Sorry, edited my last post. Reply to that if you want.

Here is the reply to this post:

That would mean my IQ is below 70, unfortunately (for you I guess?) my IQ is past 130 seeing as how I am a member of MENSA. Ah yes, I love to brag.

Stupid. Being a member of MENSA you should know these things. Guess you are full of :bs:

Edit: to educate you genius, it puts your IQ below 20

I know you're just trying to get me annonyed again and I really should ignore you...

Look at the sentances you just wrote. You speak english yet you made 3 mistakes that I can easily point out. Should I tell you to learn english or just give you the respect every poster deserves and just spend the few seconds it takes to decipher what you really mean?

(And yes it was retarded to insult ancient languages because really I just wanted to insult you).
Guess my bait worked. ;) Yes, please tell me something I don't know about that post?

Sure it does. Psychiatry books showing the bell-curve for IQ are wrong. Profound retardation actually begins at 20! :banghead:

Impressive. I take it back.

Sorry I made a mistake on my post. Profound is 20-35. Moderate 35-50. Mild 50-70.

So you were still wrong in saying that profound mental retardation just put your IQ below 70.

Norrage, you will have to check the Monte Carlo tournament section via Index. There they will give continuous updates of withdrawls. I'm sure if he pulls out it will be posted in a new thread in General Messages.

The disdain which you use when speaking to others should leave me backing them up in defense as it is clear that you are out of line on some occasions. The only problem is it's so damn funny. :worship:

Although you could make the argument that it is almost embarrasing to see you and AD argue over knowledge of mental retardation when it is so clear that you don't know these IQ levels and have just looked them up on the internet.

Also, it is not as if it makes you a fool to not know these things and, besides, it is only some people who hold the viewpoint that being retarded is determined by IQ.

Didnt look it up actually. You might be right about the rest, but my information is as AD pointed out, from psychiatry.

A decent text from Puri and Hall.

Only on MTF can there be a thread started about how Safin "hurted" his ankle, which then turns into a fight about the differences between Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. :)

Although dkw was surely bordering on the IQ level of under 20 which would leave him suffering from profound retardation (I'm learning). So maybe it wasn't so hard to beat him/her.

Crap! I am chatting crap. And I was right the first time when i said profound put the IQ below 20.

There is of course mild, moderate, severe and profound mental retardation according to the classifications I am supposed to know. Never :drink: and try to be intelligent at the same time. Just go to any uni bar to realise it can't be done.

Puri and Hall would be turning in their graves.

I thought this argument was over? Way to keep the fire burning! I'm a bit sick today, and since I know you'll have another response to this post (because we all love to argue about stuff that's done with), my responses won't be prompt.

It was hypocritical... hence the smilie. I put the smilie in there because I figured some couldn't spot sarcasm without one (remember dkw and that fobby dude?). Obviously, you stand in that "some." So I was not acting surprised/amused/offended as you believed.

As for the languages, don't forget Swahili, and Bengali. Plus, somebody asked what languages I knew. So I just replied to that. Then someone else asked me to translate a few things. I did the best I could on those. If that's considered being a show off, sue me.

Yes, I let people know about my intelligence because someone made a really witty comment about profound retardation. It is in my nature to retaliate, and I did. The other comments about IQ were to acquire the range for profound retardation. Does shallow, sexist, homophobic comments have anything at all to do with a persons intelligence, because last time I checked (just a minute ago), its called an opinion. I just like to proclaim my opinions on any matter.

In short, since when have I not been willing to "accept the consequences" whenever I post? I do realize the consequences were calamitous, but I'm a risk taker. :p (There is that smilie again, do you remember what it means?) I know you may not like it, but seeing as how hypocritical, shallow, sexist, and homophobic I am (and not to mention egotistical), I'm sure you are bound to come up with many more posts based on any arbitrary comment I make to point out hypocrisy that you fabricated. And that's fine by me.
