He let a message on his forum, he was at the airport.

bises
Arnaud

my guess is...... arnaud will spend new years eve in sydney to watch the fireworks, before he heads down to adelaide. he can spend the next few days here, there are plenty of courts, and no one else wants to wilt in this heat ! so, maybe i can start to hunt for arnaud NOW.........

don't worry marine, while your national tennis players are here in aust, me and others will look after them for you ! arnaud, paulo, richard etc etc... will all be welcome like home :)

I know they love Australia, no problem. And they come back very tanned ! :hearts:

After his message on his forum, there is his new diary... euhh..sorry, I'm too lazy (and tired) to translate today..

"Bonjour a tous.

Cela me touche énormément.

Bises à tous "

Arnaud

esther can't you help to appease marine just a little, while we borrow her boys (and do whatever we want) for a month...

*clears throat* there isn't anything new in the diary... but it sure is good to hear he is positive about playing in the olympics. though i doubt very much i will get to see him, unless he gets to the final or something.

aww he's so nice! dont u reckon the way he writes that, its so much more personal than most other diaries players write :inlove:

Marine

Yes, he's so sweet ! :inlove:
And I notice that Arnaud is much better in orthograph than his webmaster !! (difference between his personal messages on the forum, and his diaries written by the webmaster !! )

Via

someone (who's 'in the know') once told me that all players hired people to write for them. I just hope that a little message on a forum should be written by the author concerned! lol

"Coup de coeur" sportish 2003 for Arnaud:

SO SWEET, Arnaud !!!!! :inlove:
(but personly, my "coup de coeur" is Eunice ;) )

Translationn "coup de coeur sportif 2003 d'Arnaud"

"I could have said the scennario of the 100 th Tour de France and the 5th winning of Arsmtrong, I could have said this last monstruous jumpg of Eunice Barber for winning the gold medal in the long jump, the world championship.
But, because it concerne me more directly, I'd say, girls winning the fed cup. Like us, theu own this spirit od team. And this success in Moscow is great, because, contrary with us, who have the chance to play a front of 10000 persons, they had to show much determination in semi, to beat the Russian, in Russia, then, much motivation, against USA in final, a front a very small crowd. The competition is less eciting, the conurrence is hard, so they deserve all the more credit.
And Amélie, after a long season, her final in the masters, was very tired, but it didn't prevent her from being decisive. And I admit that, to see her crying, at the end, it really stood me out." :hearts:

Hmmm, I think Erin has a problem with ballkids !! lol
She always says that Arnaud isn't nice with them...ok, I know, sometimes, when he is nervous, he a bit "unpleasant" (for example, he insults his mother at phone before a match), but...often, he's nice and sweet !! LOL

stephB
01-02-2004, 08:46 PM
i often saw him very unpleasant on court. really weird. and off court he is soooooooo nice :)

michelleg
01-02-2004, 08:47 PM
He was cranky with them in Miami last year. I missed the match where he called the ball kid an idiot, but given the general quality of the ballkids in Miami, he was probably absolutely right. Especially since he is so particular about having all of the balls on the correct side of the court (as in ON the server's side, which is where they should be...)

01-02-2004, 09:31 PM
just a very little flaw, compared to my 'ex', marcelo rios. lol......... i like to imagine arnaud as an angel, but he has to be human too. too bad the kids have to cop it. i wonder if he will be rude to statistians who count his double faults and unforced errors ;)

esther
01-04-2004, 02:49 AM
Arnaud can go completely insane on court...no doubt about that...remember when he was playing Kafel once and he didnt agree with a line call so he just sat down and refused to keep playing or sth?! He's done a lot of crazy things that man but there's definately something unique about that way he talks...its so much more personal :inlove:

Et j'avoue que la voir pleurer, à la fin, ça m'a vraiment marqué" ---thats so sweet

Thanks Marine.

OMG! Michelle, have you changed your tune or what?! What happened to "if anyone called my child an idiot I'd kill them"??? :rolls:

I hate the way Nono treats the ball kids. I'm so embarrassed when he starts shouting at them I want to hide under my seat

but

it's the only thing I don't like about him. And I forgive him as soon as he does something cute. It's all good - nobody is perfect - and this way I don't go too crazy worshipping him.

michelleg
01-05-2004, 10:42 PM
Nono can really be a little curmudgeon on court, but at least he doesn't throw things at the ballkids or spit on the court. He doesn't shout obscenities as does Tommy Haas and when he argues with a call, he just looks so French its too cute.

It does help that he is so little and adorable.

I will admit that if he called my kid an idiot and my kid wasn't acting like an idiot (rare chance of that with my genes, of course...) he'd get an earful of obscenities from one ticked off mum. God forbid if he threw a towel or something at my son... Its always double standards for mommies, you know. We are permitted to yell at our children upside down, but god forbid anyone else should!

yup... think about it.... i don't even know any french but bc of passing potes there's kinda an ice-breaker? now you can speak french... with passing potes in hand u'll be invincible with the two 'potes'. lol

my camera is much much kinder to me today.... i'm now laughing over some 'peeping gordon' type of pics....... it's very hilarious but me and a few other girls waiting for arnaud tried very hard not to look and not to laugh and not to snap while he's doing this. but i did sneak a few. haaa.............

Yoga? Hmmmmm. :p Yum. Two years ago at Wimby I had a private view of Nono and Remi doing the most amazing stretching routine. Très homo-érotique. LOL

yeah rebel posts in the seb section here. Lol i'm not speaking french...he speaks english and to save embarasment i'm speaking english too!! Just heard Johannson is going to replace Younes  I also called up and they said players dont train on the outside courts when matches are been played but then those people met Richie last year when he was training on the outside courts so i dont know whats going on!! If they dont practise on the outside courts then i wont be able to get the stupid book signed

hehee.... glad i've pleased a few arnaud fans, lol :)

so marine... what are 'noah's methods' ? do tell !!! btw i think arnaud was most pleased with his childhood pic shaking hands with noah. but you probably know other stories that other nonofans have told on the official forum.

yes irish... i'm actually surprised i am this rare foreign fan who has carried the book around with me. i thought everyone must have done that before me... maybe it proves that i was stupid enough, lol......

esther, it's very funny these recent times when i met arnaud... he tried to speak english, and i tried to speak french... none had much success. it wasn't embarrassing, just very very funny...

you need a lot of patience and a lot of guts.... today i ran into one of the girls i met yesterday waiting for arnaud, and she was now waiting outside the security gates for ferrero's coach to give her some tickets he promised her. she had been standing there for *an hour*. i told her i would look up this guy for her (as i had accreditation and could go in) but really.... what could i do to find this guy ??? what a desparate fan wouldn't do, it's amazing....

Via

another pic tonight, for those who miss arnaud, and/or his coach (i have this feeling that remi looks at me rather suspiciously... honestly mr coach, i mean no harm, lol)

this is it for now... i now have to find somewhere to upload the rest, or pay up to pbase to add new photos to my existing gallery :(

michelleg

:worship: Via, you're the best.

Dont you have Photoshop to crop Coach Creepy out of the pics???? That's ok, because I do. :haha:

I had always thought Noah's methods of relaxation were of the :smoke: persuasion. But if the "yoga" is working, good on Nono for picking it up! I also noticed that his shirt was more wrinkled than usual....lol must be the yoga-induced relaxation.

BTW, Karen from CC wanted me to express her thanks for the lovely pics of Nono, which Irish so graciously shared (and appropriately gave credit to the FAB photographer!!!) with everyone.

Have fun today....I would imagine that credentials are great for rain delays. Me, I just head for the beer tent.

I just thought to his "zen attitude". noah introduced yoga in davis cup when he was captain, and forget continues in this way...

thanks for the explanation, marine! i haven't seen any frenchies do such elaborate exercises in front of me before... i wonder, isn't arnaud allowed in a gym of some sort here? lol....it was truly hilarious... llodra and his coach had left, then remi left, and it's just arnaud alone as if he was doing a demo for us. for a full 30 minutes. we were saying to each other, c'mon, please finish quickly, we wanna go home !!!! :D

Via

michelle and irish.... i fully expect you and others to link to these pics... and copy them to your computer... otherwise i would be very disappointed, lol !!!! i only wish that you could be linking to my own gallery, instead of this forum, but oh well..

the rest of my visits to the adidas will be just work, there won't be any more photo opportunities :( although, believe it or not, yesterday a partner volunteer hid his camera underneath a towel and took quite a few lindsay (attention vale!!!!) pics up close behind her back. (we were sitting directly behind her and corariu during their doubles match, and were supposed to be counting the stats)

which reminds me..... yesterday i awarded two more forehand winners to arnaud in his match against fish, than he really deserved, lol.......... it was actually a genuine mistake, but i dunno why, when i made mistakes i tended to give all the good stuff to arnaud. :D

Via
01-15-2004, 01:34 PM
thanks irish.... i don't really worry that much about it as i haven't got most of the pics uploaded, so it's ok wherever you link to... and anyway there's very little i can do about other forums all over the place.

i saw the arnaud's match live on centre court. i think he was nervous at the start. he also rushed the net without much success, as hewitt was simply too good doing his favourite passes and lobs. then i think he settled down in the 2nd, played some fantastic groundies, while hewitt made more errors. in the 3rd somehow he lost momentum, and made a few really bad mistakes in the game which he lost serve. so hewitt went on to win the set and the match.

sometimes i feel that 5 setters may actually benefit arnaud... 3 setters are too short for him to win in the 'long run'. not that i'm saying hewitt will come up short in 5 sets... but just generally speaking.

arnaud was a very graceful loser... hmm... i felt he put on a brave face with that smile at the net shaking hands with hewitt. i think i felt his pain..... urrggh......

someone told me that he stayed on to watch philippoussis match in the evening before leaving..... but that person might have been mistaken...

and i went home with the name plate 'A. Clement' with me as a souvenir...... lol. the one used on centre court today. *sigh*

Via
01-15-2004, 01:37 PM
btw - if michelle is reading this... the back of that name plate is 'F. Lopez'. no, i am not selling it at any price...

*******Totally agree with you about the five setters. There are not many players who benefit from having to dig deep and play a marathon, but I think it really brings out the best in Arnaud.*******

That's a great souvenir! What are you going to do with it?

i've hung it up on the wall. i won't be allowed to forget 'a.clement' for the rest of the year :worship:

i forgot to mention that i was pretty luckless the past few days... since i got a court swap to do arnaud's match with fish on tuesday, and everyone knew i was an arnaud fan.... every now and then people would come up to me and say, 'arnaud was at the stringers, but you were out on court so you couldn't see him' 'arnaud was just at the door leaving, i tried to look for you but you weren't around'....... so it seemed everyone had run into arnaud, but not me

Via
01-15-2004, 08:23 PM
marine - i did carry the banner to the match yesterday. and there was a belgian guy next to me who helped me cheer him in french (very loudly). did all i could, lol.. don't think arnaud saw the words on the banner though. no one understood it!....
