You mean the end product of a lengthy process that extracts the protein rich gluten from the starch of wheat flour?;) It is chewy with the consistency of meat. Not so yummy in my book. I am an ex-veggie btw.

Some of that stuff can be great if it's done just right. Or if you just fry it. Everything's good fried! :lol:

I tasted it only once and it tasted like :scratch: DIRT and I am almost a veggie. :)

The good seitan I had was prepared to be like meat. I think it was in a teriyaki sort of sauce. See, that's a key. Lotsa sauce. ;)

Well, for me, the purpose of hotdogs was to convey mustard, ketchup, or relish to your mouth. Now, I will think of seitan and teriyaki in the same way. ;)

I put tempeh in the same family as seitan btw. Even with tofu, sauce is the key.
