Favorite Marat Moment

ooh nice thread andy ;) for me(I know this isnt original)but.. it just has to be when he got his USO champion's trophy..He had just wiped the floor with Sampras- an American hero infront of his home crowd, pretty much all the odds were against him, he didnt care he just went in an did his thing and I couldnt have been more proud of Marat at that moment....Im sure im not alone on this one ;)

I need to sleep and think about this first since there are so many nice moments ;)

There are so many... USO title of course, Letterman interview, Davis Cup win, last year Paris Bercy... :)

My favorites marat's moment are when he shouting at the umpirechair because he is so funny,i don't know why.I love when marat speaks spansish and english ,i love his accent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh yes... honorable mention of course him winning the us open! :worship: I loved his reaction... he couldnt believe it that he just slamped Pete in 3 sets..aawww!

lolol and when they presented him his cheque- the look on his face was so cute

i also loved it when he said to the guy that he wanted to thank his family and friends! :D

oooh and in Toronto when he was giving his speech he was thanking his "team" and the camera panned over the people in his box and when they showed Alexander Volkov's wife someone in the crowd wolf-whistled and Marat went "she's very good looking I know.." :lol:

USO, Bercy (both times he won), winning DC, Topspin, hugging mom, all times he beat Sampras...so many great memories :)

I missed that speech in Toronto, but the pic of him and Sylvia is nice.

Rumour has it that she cheated on him, but it's just a rumour. They looked nice together, but I still think she has this sort of bitchy look. She didn't always look that friendly to me, but if she wasn't a nice girl then I don't think Marat would have stayed with her for almost five years.

To me Silvia looks very classy and she is a natural (beauty) girl which is great :) I dont know if she`s nice, but it seems like.. like you said otherwise Marat wouldnt have been together with her. He once said that Silvia is the person he talks to... he could talk with her about everything and he could trust her.
sounds great to me :) in fact she seemed a bit of a shy girl.

when he beat both Agassi and Kuerten back to back at the 98 FO. I believe Marat was the first qualifier in history to defeat two gs champions back to back.

I adored the moment in which he won the US Open, that's the most memorable moment I have of him.

But also when he won TMS Montreal 2000. :kiss:

I have many great memories, but probably him beating Pete Sampras in the quarters of the Australian Open 2002 (?) or maybe it was 2001, I really can't remember (but one of those years).

He won it with a forehand and all through the match I was willing him to win, and he did. &he was ecstatic at the end and so was I, it was good times.

Let's hope more victorious in that similar vain this year.

His 2 wins last week. I couldn't watch, but was so good to know he's back, healthy, hungry and ready for this season. Was a great start of 2004. :)

Oh absolutely! I'm so glad that he seems to have the mental side of tennis working for him at the moment, at the crucial points he didn't completely lose it, which is very promising :) I'm so sorry that you couldn't watch though, I guess that's the only perk of living in Australia, having the Hopman Cup televised on the good ol' ABC, heh. :) He was fantastic though, despite his loss to Blake in the end, but hey - 2/3 for the first matches of the year after a horrendous year is good enough.
