hmmm. Hard descison formyself, but I'd say he definatly has the ability to win em all in 1 year, but i still think its unlikely. I think he'll defend Wimbledon.(despite his record against henman, i think they could make a good final) with Roger winning in 4 sets. Sooo. I think he'll either win Australian/Wimbledon or US Open/Wimbledon. Dont think he's quite ready for the French, but he'll definatly make a good QF or SF appearence!!

Roger could win them all. I'd say he will get better and with an new coach maybe really mentally tough. He has a habit of letting down and losing match...Hewitt and Andy this year, but sometimes he lets down and still rebounds like he luckly did with Andre. I hope the problem goes away in the big matches. I do think he could win any of them and I hope he wins Wimbly again and destroys Timmy cause I never understood why Roger loses to him. Tim besides volleys doesn't do one thing better than Roger.

I just hope Roger does great at the slams. I could see him winning two of them.

Oh.. Its just that every time Roger plays Tim, he gets down on himself mentally, & like you said with a new coach hopefully that problem goes away!! I think if they meet at Wimbly I think Roger will destroy him although a 4 setter would be nice just so its not TOO one demensional!!

if our rogi can play somewhere near his best, he should bag wimbledon and the us open. the australian and french are less suited to his game (high bounce on rebound ace... and clay is his worst surface even though he's still awesome on it). if he wins 3 slams, that would be the most dominant year a man has had in a REALLY long time... so i doubt that will happen, but it's still realistic. i can see 2 though rather vividly. also, we assume no injuries and that he can play awesome without peter... we shall see.

Sure I hope Roger will win them all, but...let's be realistic, though we all know he is capable of it. I think two GS is what we can expect, say, AO and Wimbledon, or USO and Wimbledon. I'd rather AO instead of USO, coz I can't bear waiting too long to see his next big victory...USO seems a little out of my sight now...

And also from his performance in AO, we can have a clue if the coach change gets a good impact on him. Hope it does...

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the AO, he might have a good chance, his morale his high, I think he's in with a big chance. He will have have to beat some good guys this year, Marat is coming back, I hope JCF will play well next season 2 and ugly azz duck is in. I'm pesimistic about RG, I doubt he could beat Coria and JCF on clay. Wimby and USO seem to be perfect!

Actually, Iza, he did beat JCF on clay in straight sets this year ;)

and i don't think he'll lose to coria anywhere... presonally. jcf is a different story, and he's beaten him this year. french open was a real let-down.

When he is on, he can beat anyone on any surface, including those clay experts on clay. I'm just wondering how he can be on for both FO and Wimbledon...so I simply choose Wimbledon to be the place where he should be in shape, coz there he has a much bigger chance.

I saw the thread of people who could win RG and Wimbly in the same year. I would pick Roger cause RG would be the hard part. Yes he would likely miss Halle or not play till Wednesday and might lose out in the 1st round, but he would have time to rest and plenty of time to get ready for Wimbly. I think he could do it. I just hope Roger is in great shape this year and does his best and becomes more of an closer and not a choker.

I truly believe Wimbly's the 1 GS that Roger can dominate, but i dont know how Roger would fair against another grass court specialist(other than Scud), especially Timmy, where not only will the crowd be supporting him, but plays very well on the surface. To tell yea the truth, Im not sure how Roger plays against Serve/Volleyers. Its been a while since I've seen him play one. I dont know what his tactics are when he plays one, but I know they can sometimes give him trouble!

Roger usually returns very well and slices the ball low and short to make them hit up. He has great tactics and will kill Tiger Dorko Tim next time. :fiery:

Never said he wouldent kill Tim. I just dont know how he plays versus guys like Timmy! I assume he attacks the net alot as well, to keep timmy off of it!

i dunno, y'all ppl, ......i have no clue what 2 say. remeber, marat is gonna be back and in my opinion he is rogi's biggest opponent becoz he is as natural and as talented as he is. Only his nerves might be the problem.

i just hope he's gonna win something

I think he will repeat at Wimbledon and might win the US Open. I don't think he'll win RG but he will go far (well, certainly farther than last year, lol!) Australia is a ?.

Agree MisterQ about the AO. It is such a ? with Rogi's current coaching situation. Hopefully he'll do well there, preferably better than last year, heck why not win it. I think it will do wonders for his performance the rest of the year with the confidence he can gain if he performs well at AO.

I wont make prediction, don't want to jinx Rogi :)

I completlely agree with MisterQ. But he might not win the Australian due to the fact that he wont have a coach yet! I have a feeling Andre will win a 5th Aussie Open this year!

I question Roger for AO, too, but I have every confidence he'll win at least one slam this year (either Wimby or US Open). So much depends on the draws and his mental preparedness. I hope he goes further at AO this year than he has in the past.

thank god we don`t have to worry about Henman anymore:p
>>good bump, speaking of 2010 then~~ i hope FED wins AO [to make up for losing the final this year] and Wimby [to equal Sampras`s record of 7]
but maybe i`m being greedy:devil:

OMG... this thread is about 6 yrs old... before nadal's time....

and amazingly... i think it is still not too far fetched for roger to win all 4 slams in a single year now... after the discussion started 6 yrs ago in a nadal-less era... yes i'm greedy too... i'm hoping federer to defend US open and retake the AO next year... then he'll get a non-calendar slam... and in 2010... french will again be the biggest challenge... if he can pull that off... then we can start discussing of a possible calendar slam... *greedy mode on* ...
