As Andrew isn't here I will open this thread.

Participants:

.1 Thailand........ 185
..2 Argentina....... 172
..3 Indonesia....... 159
..4 Germany......... 147
..5 Gibraltar....... 122.5
..6 Singapore....... 120
..7 Netherlands..... 109.5
..8 Great Britain... 108.5

I think that, since Andrew isn't here to do live draw like he did with WTA, most fair draw should be (if you agree):

1 vs 8
4 vs 5
3 vs 6
2 vs 7

=
(Hosts in Bald)
Thailand vs Great Britan ... TBC
Germany vs Gibraltar ... TBC
Indonesia vs Singapur ... TBC
Argentina vs Netherlands ... at Buenos Aires, Clay Outdoor

So, start choosing team Captains and Venues :)

btw... I think that Singles Rubber 4th and 5th should only be considered in ties where they are still important (won't be counted when ties are 3-0 on Saturday).

Do you agree?? In this case we coulde reduce PAW's limit to 7? 'couse I think that "SUPP's" thing sux :S

How does this work?

I mean, are we adopting the H2H match up now? I remember we used the total average point system in the first round

Does that mean the following :

$@M vs GB#2
pommyNT vs GB#1

$@M+pommyNT vs GB Doubles

pommyNT vs GB#2
$@M vs GB#1

???

I would think we should keep the same format as the 1st Rd.

I don't like the idea of H2H match up.
Bring back the SUPPs :p

Yeah What happened to the total average point system??

I was part of GB's first round win, now suddenly I'm not playing

Now it's H2H (look #1).

Rules:
2 player-team: Average points of ALL player's points
3-4 player-team: Average points of ALL player's points, minus one of the player's worst result
5 player team: Average points of ALL player’s points, minus two of the player’s worst result

The individual tie scores will either be 5-0, 4-1 or 3-2. This will be based on the percentage difference of the total points scored by each team.

But yes, I also prefer the "Ranking System" from Round 1.

Team average, but yet, will score in best-of-5

This is so confusing... but I'll let you and Andrew work it out... as long as it's consistent, it'll be fine. :)

Just let us know how many picks we can make, and the supps... we'll do our best, and let's hope it's enoguh ~ :yeah:

Now it's H2H (look #1).

I don't understand because the following.......:

Rules:
2 player-team: Average points of ALL player's points
3-4 player-team: Average points of ALL player's points, minus one of the player's worst result
5 player team: Average points of ALL player’s points, minus two of the player’s worst result
...... still looks like it is using the system in the 1st round. So if I make picks they aren't going to be automatically disgarded because I don't have a direct opponent because there will be an average used.

If this is the case I don't understand the post listing the H2H

Yes, been wondering the same thing.

And since I'm going to bed now and to work for 9 hours tomorrow I'll not have any time at all to input any picks.

That, along with my total confusion over what is actually happening means I will also be pulling out :)

Just like you, I'm worried that I won't be able to make my picks (I have school until 3 o'clock tomorrow). It would be helpful if someone opens the PAW-Davis Cup thread.

NyGeL
04-06-2006, 05:20 PM
I put the thread.

I just have 1 hour to lunch before going back to work... can somebody put the scores for matches at "PAW Davis Cup" thread?

thanks... I can't run this alone :S

Final scores by nation will be like in Round 1, but now it won't be a General Ranking.

It will be Argentina vs Netherlands, Singapur vs Indonesia, etc.

If Argentina won 250 - 220, and Singapur won 100 - 80, doesn't matter that Netherland has a higher score than Singapur... they are out 'cose they lost against Argentina. Is it clear now???

Team scores are an average from all players, not individual.

NyGeL
04-06-2006, 05:31 PM
we also need one more player to Netherlands and one more to Singapur!!!
