It's a joke, right? :p

Ljubicic on playing the DC right after the Miami final:
"Today I cannot say that I have 100% possibility of playing on friday. I don't know if I'll be playing that day. I have the opportunity of putting Mario (Ancic) as the N°1 player against the singlist N°2 of Argentina. It would be better if the DC wasn't on that date"

Croatia's Ljubicic doubtful for Davis Cup start
Tue Apr 4, 2006 10:43 AM BST13

ZAGREB, April 4 (Reuters) - Croatia's leading player and captain Ivan Ljubicic may miss the first day of the Davis Cup tie against Argentina due to fatigue and abdominal pain, Croatian newspapers reported on Tuesday.

"At the moment, I cannot say with hundred percent certainty that I will play on Friday," Ljubicic, who lost to world number one Roger Federer in the Nasdaq-100 Open final in Miami on Sunday, told Vecernji List daily on Tuesday.

"What is certain is that I shall not be at my best and there is a chance that Mario (Ancic) gets to be our first player. But I will make a final decision on Thursday," the world number five said.

Croatia play Argentina in Zagreb on April 7-9.

The Croats won their first Davis Cup last December and started the defence of the title in February with a victory against Austria in Graz.

I think he might play mind games. (Actually I don't think it's bad if he does, look Guy Forget did a great job as I told in GM! ;) ) He loves DC so much, last time he has a neck problem,he played too.I like Chucho, but I cheer for this team for so sure! :rocker2:

I think that Argentina will win. Ancic and Ljubo have lot of problems with healthy. Itīs a just too mutch for them. I donīt think that Tuksar or Cilic could win Nalbandian or Calleri.Where is Karlovic now when we need him?!!! I heard that he will be American soon. What a shame.

Croatia's top pair face fitness battle for Davis Cup
Thu Apr 6, 2006 11:41 AM BST170

ZAGREB, April 6 (Reuters) - Davis Cup holders Croatia are holding their breath over the fitness of Ivan Ljubicic and Mario Ancis ahead of Friday's opening singles rubbers in the World Group quarter-final against Argentina.

World number five and team captain Ljubicic is suffering from fatigue and abdominal problems while Mario Ancic, ranked 17th on the ATP tour, is struggling to recover from a back injury.

"I still haven't made a decision. I want to play but my stomach hurts, I haven't slept much and I am still jet-lagged," Ljubicic was quoted as saying by the Sportske Novosti daily newspaper on Thursday.

Ljubicic brushed aside Argentina's top-ranked player and world number three David Nalbandian 6-2 6-1 in the Nasdaq-100 Open semi-finals in Miami last week before going down in three tight sets to world number one Roger Federer.

However, he complained of severe abdominal pains and fatigue when he returned to Croatia on Tuesday evening.

Ancic, beaten by Nalbandian in the quarter-finals of the Miami tournament, said he was unlikely to play on the opening day, meaning that Croatia's hopes of progressing to the last four may rest on unheralded reserves Sasa Tuksar and Marin Cilic.

"I have to take it one day at a time. I will play if at all possible, but at this point I can't say whether I will be fit on Friday, Saturday or Sunday," he said.

The absence of either Ljubicic or Ancic in Saturday's doubles would also be a massive setback for Croatia as the pair have a perfect 6-0 Davis Cup record.

The draw for the order of play will be held later on Thursday.

I heard that ljubo will play 100 % , but that Ancic has very big problem with back so the possibillity of his playing is 5 %. If he doesn īt play itīs gonna be very big problem to match in doubles.Uuuuu, so many troubles.

Yes they lost the doubles, but I believe that Ivan will push himself so hard to fight against Nalbandian. :boxing: No matter the result is,he is still a very good DC player. :rocker2: But on the other hand,Ivan is no Saint,I don't want him to take many pressures later on,Croatia needs more players who are really willing to play for the country and can be able to beat top opponents.Today I heard Cilic played well and even actually he was better than Ivan, that's cool.

Yes, this match against Nalby is gonna be really tough, esp as Ivan has already played a lot this weekend and must be really tired now... But I still believe he can win it. Then of course the fifth rubber will be almost impossible to win, but I think whoever will play it, he'll fight till the last point... and who knows...
