Many UEs, problems to return Phau's second serve. If Andre keeps playing this tennis, he won't get decent results.
Anyway, Bjorn played a good match, with awesome counter-attacks.

Agreed!

Come on Andre, show the doubters that you still got more game in you than 95 percent of the tour!

Hmm as a German I'm not perfectly sure whether I shall rather cheer Björns splendid run or worry about Andres bad form this year  I think once he's fully back in shape physically he'll still be capable of pulling out some results that will drop the jaw of all those "uh uh retire you idiot" guys :wavey:

Doesn't matter. Andre will head to IW and Miami and probably do very well at one or both of them.

He's not a confidence player any more. He doesn't need to be winning week-in-week-out to do well at the majors.

Lay off Andre. Roger barely beat a guy ranked in the 400's so it can happen. I'm sure Andre will perform better in Miami and IW (if he plays there). :)

Roger didn't "barely beat a guy ranked in the 400's" Roger beat him in straight sets and the second set was 6-4. This is a long way from barely beating someone.

Andre should never lose to Phau. Something is wrong with Andre's back and I hope it clears up.

Geez...someone has to tell this to you straight so that you get the message...
"You are shit at betting." I don't proclaim to be an expert...indeed I'm not. But you deserve what you get when you put a load of big faves together and don't know shit about the match-ups or injury statuses. How much more money do you want to lose asshole?

...and don't blame the players for your stupid mistakes either

On TTC Barry McKay interviewed Mike Agassi (off-screen) who announced that Andre will be having back surgery soon. Leif & Jimmy were quick to jump in that there was no confirmation of this yet from the Agassi camp.

I don't like to tell a player that it is their time...but Agassi really should quit. It has been a pleasure seeing some of his tennis in recent years (I didn't see his dominant years) but this is not how he'd want to be remembered. He has had a great career and gained so much respect from people world-wide...but he is starting to test that now. I think he is daft for continuing like this...his body has given up on him...it is time for him to accept that he can no longer compete to the high level necessary of today's game. Why put himself and his close ones through all this torture?

When it comes to the Grand Slam events we'll see Andre doing alot better.

you don't know why?
its for the money.
not for himself but his charities...mainly his school in vegas.
that is why he switched from nike to adidas.
its great that he donates so much money...
but his game is gone.

Agassi should have retired at the end of last year. I mean, I don't think he wants to go out like this.

Jimnik

Nobody should worry, he won't be remembered like this. Who cares about the International Series events. Andre has frequently been able to recover quickly and play much better at the important tournaments. I expect him to do very well at IW and/or Miami.

Big appearance fee for Agassi that should help out whatever projects he has at the moment.

Well done Björn for winning and as for retirement in relation to Agassi. I can't stand the guy, but he has done enough to retire when he feels like not playing tennis anymore.

Andre doesnt care about tournaments like this anymore. His real performance should be judged by what he does at Slams, and from that, he's still as good as anyone in the top 10 now.

If he wants to make sure he has left everything he has out there then that is his perogative. In my opinion he is in no way risking his legacy. I think his primary concern is self respect, when he leaves it has to be on terms he is comfortable with. That staying might test the good will of tennis fans really isn't part of the equation. However successful or satisfying what he does in his life after tennis is it won't replicate what he feels playing. Who can begrudge him some time to come to terms with the inevitable.

Less than 6 months ago, Agassi was taking Federer to 4 sets in a Slam final, even only losing one of the sets on a tiebreak so that's very encouraging to him, I'd guess. It's the same old story with the injuries, though. :(

If Andre has poor performances in Indian Wells and Miami then it's time to quit. However, I do expect a strong Wimbledon and US Open from Andre!
