Wanted to let you all know that we have an unofficial site for Rafael at http://www.vamosrafael.com. It used to be rafaelnadal.com, but the license expired on that domain. I imagine he'll have an official site someday, but that may take a while.

It's in English, but the Messageboard is bi-lingual (although it's mostly English at this point). When he's playing in Spain, we generally get more Spanish interest.

Hope you drop by.

Susan

Weeks, eh? That's what happens when you don't pay attention for a couple weeks and say it's only been down for "days". Hopefully they aren't gone!

I would email Susan, but frankly, I figure she's probably busy enough that she doesn't need a 50th email on the topic.

Hi, this is my first message here but I'm a long - time lurker!

I think Vamos Rafael is a really cool site but I'm pretty sure it's where I picked up a rather nasty virus (porn pop ups, that's all I'm going to say on the matter ;) ) So maybe that's why it's down, the people in charge are maybe trying to get it fixed.

Anyway, that'll teach me not to have decent antivirus software! Needless to say I do now. I hope no one thinks I'm criticising the owners of the site (don't want to offend people in my very first post) like I said it's my own fault for being too stingy to buy antivirus stuff!!!

Susan, webmistress of vamosrafal.com, said it was a server provider problem. Earlier, the messageboard was having problems because of a virus. haha, angenort, I didn't get those porn pop-ups. I think they were from somewhere else... Get Adaware! it's free and it catches everything.

I don't know Damaged, they all appeared when I was on the site (and wouldn't go away until I took apart my computer and put it together again  )

I am now armed to the teeth with antivirus programmes!

PS, I hope you're not suggesting I got the porn pop ups from visiting (ahem) unsavoury websites  No one will believe that I got this virus from just innocent websites!

Anyway, glad to hear the website is back up, I may mosey back on over there at some point.

hmm...I think you're getting bad pop ups because of the different internet service providers. That might be why. Also I have like 435434 toolbars and they block all the pop ups. :p

but won't all those pop up blockers also stop the new windows that you want to pop up(when clicking on a link on some sites, a new window pops up)? Then you'll have to disable the blockers which is very troublesome.. That's why I don't want too many pop up blockers..

nahh. mine never does that. i think it depends on what kind of toolbars you have...

I have the Yahoo pop-up blocker and if you are on a site that needs to open anotrher window, it prevents it *sigh* So does the hotmail one.

depending on what toolbar you have...with my pop-uo blockers you can allow pop-ups on certain sites if you know they're not ads...like java windows etc

what pop-up blocker are you using, ~EMiLiTA~ and damaged?

my pop-up blocker just came with my pc...we upgraded our pc about a month ago and it's just inbuilt under my tools menu. On my old comp I had a pop-up blocker that came with a tool bar from smilie central, but I wouldn't advise you to download that because it can sometimes cause problems with the start-up of your computer. I'm sure there are others around..sorry can't help you too much though!

i like the Google one the best. it works the best out of all of them. i also have this software that gets rid of popups that keep popping up.

Unfortunately, the server we were on was attacked by a heinous virus, and that's why it was down for a week or so.

I also had the same problem with the pop-ups, etc., and had to wipe out my hard drive at home. At work, they installed some adware programs and it took care of the problem there.

Sorry you had the issue. It was unpleasant for sure. But our service provider, ipowerweb.com, has taken steps to ensure this doesn't happen again.

If you don't visit regularly, I hope you do. I'm in the process of adding all the zillions of Davis Cup photos, and updating the site with articles and such.

And in case you didn't know it, the site is now bi-lingual. Nathalie in Australia handles that part of the site, and it's been great for Rafa's Spanish fans. And for me as well, as I no longer get complaints that we are doing a disservice to him by only having an English site.

And there may be a group of us going to Indian Wells. So if you are interested, pop by our Messageboard for info.

Happy Holidays!
