Soderling was always favourite. Good grit shown by Murray to save 7 MP's before being downed.

:retard: Because he is just 18 and he will improve like no one before.

No surprise really, Soderling should arguably have taken him out last week. God on Soderling, true indoor specialist

not only physical tiredness... especially for a young player who just won his first title, it's all a new situation he suddenly has to deal with. Emotional letdowns, mental tiredness can be a factor. Depending on the player it can also be a "ah damn you all, let me alone" reaction to give yourself time to realise what happened when you're suddenly watched and asked more than before from one tournament to the other.

Not all are immediately like Nadal with 19 year last season as he basically swept the complete South American clay tour, being consistent for three tournaments in a row.

What a load of blinkered, biased twaddle that is. You ARE wrong.

AD can say what he likes, he worships the great man Agassi although I don't necessarily think he's being fair here.

no worries Andy, continue to work on fitness and it was always taking its toll on him throughout.

How many tennis players play another tounament straight after winning one? not many and specially Robin Sodling who most people can not stand.

Many players , and those great are able to do it  . examples

2003 - Andy Roddick - TMS Canda and Cincinnati(he was 20 , two very tough and big tournamnets , and he won with some of the best players :))

But far more better example is Nadal

2005 - TMS Monte Carlo And Rome he was in Andy Murray age , and playing on clay in Masters Series event(and the second one was won after more than 5h battle in final , so far more tiring that playing two small tournaments , his not in this class of players.)

Iam suprised how physically weak is Murray , he must work on this very hard, he is great when considering mental toughness but his stamina is very poor, several young guns are much better here : Baghdatis , Nadal, Monflis. It's strange becasue his game is defensive , and much depends on how fast is he, what more is being teached in Spain so he should have great stamina

His stamina and fitness are still an issue but it is not that bad, he is over the worst of it. It will still be a problem for a while because he is not a fully developed adult yet. If it is still a problem in a year it will be a real worry but for now it's not worrying.

Trivial
02-24-2006, 09:15 PM
Regarding Andy's fitness i am personally not too worried. People develop at different ages, look at Nadal..he has developed very early, and is obviously alot stronger and fitter than Andy is. Andy is obviously a late developer, who will fill out and reach his peak fitness capabilities in hopefully a year or so.

Just a word to those saying "how do you expect him to play 2 week slams" - usually in slams the players get a day's rest between matches.

Andy played these two weeks:
Wednesday 1st round
Thursday doubles and 2nd round
Friday doubles and quarter
Saturday semi
Sunday final
Monday -Tuesday, no match, but travel
Wednesday 1st round
Thursday 2nd round
Friday Quarters.

I think he has a good right to be tired.
