Oh, that is too bad. I saw Guga had won the first set and I hoped he'd win.

I'll just pretend Guga was trying to help out a young Brasilian's career....

gHEM IS BORN IN 1982 AS FAR AS i REMEMBER (TOO LAZY TO CHECK AS ALWAYS) sorry for caps, so Nalbandian's age, actually

Bad result, that's for sure. Was hoping we'd see a revitalised Guga, but alas looks not likely

ill give guga about 3 -4 tournaments to actually judge if he can still play, remember last year he won 1st round at us open gave robredo a match in the 2nd so I dont believe he lost his tennis from the US open to now? Maybe he just felt alot of pressure.

Oh well, then he was trying to help out a hopeless journeyman trying to reach his goal of winning an atp match...

I'm very disappointed in the result. I thought his home crowd would help him win this match even if he wasn't feeling his best, but sadly it seems I was wrong

Yes Athy, you have put your education to good use.

Guga can no longer play tennis to a decent standard.

I hope he retires ASAP.

They should have given the WC to Donald Young. At least there is one player that even Guga in his present state could beat.

It was Guga's first single match in circuit since US Open 2005! He is not playing, that's the problem. He said after match that his level was much lower than in trainings. The best to way to get in shape is playing, winning. I think he needs to play a good sequence of tournaments to see if he is still capable to play good tennis.

I really hope he can do better in his next tournament!
