Murray factor rubbing off maybe? Well Arvind almost beat Moya a couple of years ago... this time he managed to hang on to his lead.

You make it sound like a bad thing. Personally i think upsets are what makes the game exciting and refreshing. If the higher ranked players always won, then what would be the point in watching if you already knew the result?

It also shows an ever increasing depth in the mens game, which is always good :)

Well, I'm a little shocked but not overly surprised. He is an average serve-volleyer and if he executed that gameplan well then he always stood a chance. I mean, take a look at Para's record against serve-volleyers? :tape:

Meffert R2
Dent QF

Both beatable.

Only problem is his fitness is suspect...can he come back tomorrow and win again?

Knowing Paradorn, he probably tries to bash the ball past them instead of going for accuracy or variety.

:haha: It's true

Look at Dent's h2h record against British players:

Dent 0-1 Henman
Dent 1-2 Rusedski
Dent 0-2 Murray
Dent 0-1 Delgado

But, unfortunately:

Dent 1-0 Parmar

In 2002, they met in Surbiton and Dent won 6-4 6-1

He can lose to anyone when hes off, but this is his worst loss in a while.

I hope Arvind can make it far.

true. Interesting to see how he's gonna handle this top seed if the latter survives to QF. anyways, good luck to Arvind!

Congratulations are certainly due. His past performances against Muller and Moya showed that his best shotmaking wards off any "Get A Real Job" comments, but his overall career arc still unfortunately invites such criticism.

Paradorn....sigh.

Good win for Parmar though.

Dylan24, I don't see how anyone is making a living betting on the sport anymore because outside of a few players, it's all a 50-50 proposition these days. Too much talent being developed all over the world.

Brilliant upset.

One of my great Arvind Parmar memories he was leading a set and 5-1 up in the AO qualies against big Kevin Kim and he had 10mps and somehow managed to lose this match.

Hope he can keep going, but I doubt it.

I hope Meffert will beat him, because he defeted him in the quali, so he deserves a better result than Parmar here. Come on Meffert!
