I know Wimby has a weird ass way of doing the tickets and that the ballot is closed and all that jazz but can u actually buy a ground pass or something on the day?

You can get show court tickets on the day if you queue the night before

yeah, you will have to queue for hours before the start of play to get in though...still waiting to see if i've been successful in the ballot but otherwise i'll be in that queue!

Regarding the ballot are they still allocating tickets? Ive never been allocated any even though I send off a few applications from different addresses each year. I heard some people have already been allocated some.

Thanks for all the info peeps, and also welcome :wavey:

Can u queue up for ground passes only on the day or are the only tickets they dish out for show courts?

allstar, if you join the lta (i think its about £35 a year) you have a 2/5 chance of getting tickets...much better odds than the normal ballot!

Dont play enough really. Anyway I actually enjoying camping out. You get to wind up the Aussies, even more so this year since we beat them in the Ashes.

hehe, yeah we've got something to taunt them with now! :D plus andy beating hewitt last nite!!! btw, you don't have to play to be an lta member, i only play at weekends but use my membership to get discounts on nottingham open and queens tickets (can get 10% off), plus you get 2 free magazines a month...god i sound like an lta salesperson, sorry!

you don't have to queue for ages if all you want is a grounds pass. during the first week last year i went at noon and got one.

And you need to join by 24th February to get in the draw on 1st March. ( Not that I seem to get any from it though, nor from the standard ballot. It'll be an expensive fortnight again, no doubt.)

Really? How long would the average queing time be? Im assuming its longer going onto the second week, but would the lines and wait be long during the first week?

well i waited about 10 mins. although i'm sure that's not exactly typical, you still don't have to wait for hours or anything to get a grounds pass.

I queued (in the first week) for about 3 to 4 hours a day. But I joined the queue at about 7.00/7.30 each morning to get in just before play starts. If you want to get a show court ticket you should be able to get one when you join the queue at about 5.00 a.m. but not any later and still there is a possibility of not getting a show court ticket but in general you will be able to get one. Probably not a centre court ticket though...only if you're lucky. ;)

I got offered tickets through the ballot so I guess I was lucky. A pair of tickets too which is a bonus! I'm going in the first week so hopefully I'll get to see some big names as they should all still be playing!

There are no tickets for qualifying it's free :)

Mind you it's at Roehampton not Wimbledon...I'll be there again this year. :wavey:

I used to queue around 5am for a shortcourt ticket - you can go as late as 10 am for just a ground pass.
