A good way for Taylor to get his first win of the season (not counting Hopman Cup) after three straight losses to begin the year to Clement, Garcia Lopez, and Andreev.

Taylor now extends his record over Berdych to 3-0, he's got a good draw with Nadal pulling out, so hopefully he'll use it to his advantage. :yeah:

Berdych always gets broken at the end of a set and never fights for his winnings. Pathetic attitude.

I don't like Berdych much, but it would be wrong to say that he is not fighting, otherwise it would be hard for him to go 7-0 or 8-0 in five set matches so far in his early career, right?

 That's a pretty impressive run against a talented player!

His draw is wide open enough for at least a SF and he loves indoor.

Best of luck, Tay! :wavey:

Not a big shock, one of Dent's other wins was at Wimbledon where he has a big edge on grass and the other, back in Athens, was right on the back of Berdych's three-set epics against Federer and Robredo. I shouldn't think Berdy enjoys having to hustle and track down volleys on the run when he likes to be the one dictating play with big groundies.

But yes, I certainly hope the Denthead can do some damage in this event.

Maybe the Berdman doesn't like the beginning of the ATP season because he stunk it up early on last year as well.

I'd love to see Dent take this title.

Good luck to Taylor! I liked that he showed up at the Oz Open having shed a few pounds. :yeah: Still has a way to go but at least he's going in the right direction.

But sad for Tomas.

Yes, a players results need to be judged in Feb, next there will be some profound comments that Berdych is inconsistent.

Right on the spot, also it seems to me that Tomas tries to answer Taylor's junk approach shots with clean winners, while it might be better to make Dent play a volley. But this is something to be gained with more experience, for the moment Dent is a tough opponent for Tomas. (apart from clay)

Overall there are no unexpected losses this year for Tomas apart from the AO. That must have been a big disappointment for him, he lost an opportunity to do well there.

When he wins in Bercy, he becomes ready to challenge Roger, he is the next big thing, he is a force to be reckoned with at the AO. After 6 weeks in the season he is over-rated, he will never achieve anything and so on. Overall, MTF looks like its normal unbiased self.

Yes, that was Berdman's solution when he was playing Simon and also a guy like Dent can expose his footwork if it's not up to scratch and trying to hit winners of low balls when not balanced isn't the easiest thing to do.

Btw, done a blog update. :)

Potential champ to total chump in a short space of time and your overall analysis is faultless sadly.
