(Q) Paul Capdeville (CHI) def. (3) Tommy Robredo (ESP) 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-4*Viva Chile* 02-20-2006, 07:44 PM  Great win Paul!!! I didn't expected this!!! Congrats for your best career victory, I hope will come very more much :D mangoes 02-20-2006, 07:45 PM  I just lost all my vcash........... TOMMY :shout: Fee 02-20-2006, 07:47 PM Hmm, what is happening to Tommy? 1. He's nursing an injury that prevents him from playing his game 2. He has already decided that he made the wrong decision to play the "American Swing" (despite the appearance fees), he hates it here (although he seemed to like the shopping in San Jose), and he won't come back next year. 3. It's just a temporary slump and he will get over it. I hope it's #3, or #1. I wish I had seen him play Flip in San Jose last week, these two losses make absolutely no sense to me. Hope he does better next week in Las Vegas. Conita 02-20-2006, 07:48 PM VAMOS PAUL!!! XD FELICITACIONES!!! WELL DONE CAPDEVILLE KEEP IT UP!!! :) NicoFan 02-20-2006, 07:52 PM these two losses make absolutely no sense to me. Have you ever seen Paul play live? If you had, it might make more sense to you. While I feel bad for Tommy because I really like him, and realize that he's on a surface he isn't comfortable on, Paul needs to be given some credit. I watched Paul a lot at the US Open - I watched him against PHM and Fer Verdasco and in practices - this kid has game. I've been waiting for him to break out, and I know that with Horacio de la Pena as his coach now (same coach as Fer Gonzalez) he'll start to be a bit more consistent out there and hopefully move up the rankings. Scotso 02-20-2006, 07:56 PM Have you ever seen Paul play live? If you had, it might make more sense to you. I don't think so. While he might be a talented player, he certainly shouldn't be beating Robredo. Tommy  :sobbing: *Viva Chile* 02-20-2006, 07:59 PM Don't reduce merits to Paul guys... Paul has a different kind of play than the other chileans, bacause prefers hardcourts and a serve &volley play, he's working thanks to Horacio de la Peña in his baseline game too, I only hope that improves his game and give to chileans more victories :D *Ljubica* 02-20-2006, 08:02 PM Great win for Paul - congratulations :) RickDaStick 02-20-2006, 08:07 PM Hmm, what is happening to Tommy? 1. They would of been better of giving this money to charity or flushing it down the toilet. NicoFan 02-20-2006, 08:12 PM Don't reduce merits to Paul guys... Robredo said that "the courts in Marseille were way too fast" for him & that is why he chose to play in the U.S. What went wrong? Robredo said that "the courts in Marseille were way too fast" for him & that is why he chose to play in the U.S. What went wrong? I still don't see how the American surfaces are perfect for his game. Maybe the European courts are too fast but did he forget there are CLAY court tournaments going on in South America. I think those are perfect for his game and not the harcourts where he can be overpowered by many guys out there. *Viva Chile* 02-20-2006, 08:22 PM Surely next year Tommy will prefer the South American clay court tournaments ;) Fergie 02-20-2006, 09:14 PM Amazing result Paul, congrats! Surprised by the lack of a crowd though for a Tommy R. match - he's usually well followed in the US. gusman890 02-21-2006, 12:16 AM wow..tommy is having a BADD start to the year robinhood 02-21-2006, 12:59 AM Tommy tommy tommy.... :armed: robinhood 02-21-2006, 01:00 AM Are people in Memphis aware that this tourney is going on?
