Actually it was the Warriors they beat

Looks like their disappointing 2005 season has carried over to the start of this season. They really should be putting teams like Catalan away who only have the one world class player.

Sunday games...

Wakefield to cover +13.5 v Bradford - $1.90

+

Wakefield to beat Bradford on the ML - $4.80 (small play)

Last year Wakey did the double over the champions, and I don't see any reason why they can't repeat their shock win in last season's opener here. The Bulls I don't believe will be the force they were last year with the exodus of a few of their players from last season. I am also not reading too much into their performance against the Wests Tigers in the club championship either as it was clear they were not well prepared, similar to all the NRL teams that go over to England in past years. Wakey have recruited pretty well this year with the signings of Beathem and Catic from the NRL. A home dog giving to getting too many points IMO. I also believe the Volcano will not be playing for the Bulls today, a big miss for the champs if he does not play.

Warrington to cover -16.5 v Salford - $1.90

Wire I feel might be a bit of a darkhorse this year, they had a good year last year and this year they have added some extra muscle up forward with the signings Rauhihi and Parker. Salford have been plagued with injuries during the preseason and are missing both first choice hookers for today. Wire hammered this team in pre season and I expect much of the same to start the new season, a comfortable victory for the the home team.
