Following Wednesday matches, Federer qualified as top of the blue group, Ferrero was eliminated, and the winner of Agassi vs Nalbandian tonight will qualify in 2nd place.

The possibilities for Thursday's matches in the red group:
Schuettler def Roddick + Coria def Moya -> Schuettler qualifies, Moya eliminated
Roddick def Schuettler + Moya def Coria -> Roddick qualifies, Coria eliminated
If Roddick wins in 2 sets and Coria def Moya, he needs one set against Coria to qualify.

After the 2nd round of matches in the red group, Schuettler has qualified to the SF, Moya eliminated, and the winner of Coria vs Roddick will qualify in 2nd place.

Actually, the tournament now is a single elimination format, with Federer through to the SF where he'll play the winner of the "quarter final" between Coria and Roddick, and in the other half of the draw Schuettler waits for the winner of Agassi vs Nalbandian.

3rd player to say good bye to Houston is David Nalbandian, who followed the 2 Spaniards, Ferrero and Moya, after his loss to Agassi last night. Another Argentinian-American encounter will decide the last qualifyer to the SF, when Coria and Roddick meet in Friday night match, which will be followed by yet another American-Argentinian match, the doubles semifinal between the Bryan twins and Etlis&Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, the 2 Spaniards who failed to qualify meet the 2 German speakers who already qualified in "dead" matches as far as ranking in this tournament is concerned. Federer has easily dismantled Ferrero earlier, and finished the round-robin stage with 3 wins, and now it's Schuettler's turn to try and win 3-in-a-row against Moya.
