Are they changing the court color to red for His Majesty Rogelio 1?
Nothing against Rogelio but this looks more and more like its his Slam to lose.

not surprising but if it is true is sooooo bad! :bigcry:

if he doesn't play the Aussie Open he'll drop like to the 50 spot or more in the Entry Ranking, right?

Deboogle!.
01-10-2006, 08:12 PM
Yeah he'd lose 1000 points, leaving him in the mid-40s on the current rankings, so somewhere around there. :(

Nop, he might drop down to around n° 80

are you serious  ??? that's horrible

this is so bad and not only for him but also for the other top players ...
none of the top players would like to face Marat in a first round match later in the year ...

Meeek

Nop, he might drop down to around n° 80

He's been there before  Anyways, as soon as he is fully fit and recovered, he'll be back in top 10 in no time.

I'm actually relieved he is out. Nothing as bad as a defending champion making a desperate attempt to end up stumbling and falling.

Eeeh, I hope it won't come to that bad. He'll HOPEFULLY play in Marseille and gain some points right away.

I have never been a fan of him , but it is very sad his injury , so i hope Maroto can come back soon on courts so that his MTF-fangirls can go into ectasies again ;)

Nop, he might drop down to around n° 80 :sad:On the up side: if he doesn't play at all until February 13th, he'll be eligible for an protected ranking of approximately 6. Combined with wild cards (& low cut-offs for some of the weaker ATP events), he should be able to get into tournaments for the rest of the year without too many problems. He's probably better off staying out rather than risking an early loss (& further injury) and forfeiting his protected ranking.

Sucks for Marat but totally expected. His ranking will drop really low but I believe that he'll be able to make use of a protected ranking by the time he comes back, to enter the big tournaments. He's already on the entry lists for Marseille and Rotterdam, I hope he plays these tournaments.

even if marat did play...do people really expect him to beat federer after months of no matches.

when marat is fully healthy, he is a big question mark, let along when he is carrying something.

its a good decision.

hope he gets fit soon!

Two of my top favourites out on one day. And Marat's ranking is going to suffer really badly again.
Are they changing the court color to red for His Majesty Rogelio 1?
Nothing against Rogelio but this looks more and more like its his Slam to lose.
It does look like it, at the moment. But it is sport, anything could happen. Anyway, I like Roger, but I just hope the other players give him a good run for his money.

AO still has a lot of solid competitors that can be a threat to Roger :D ................ So, I'm not ready to say it's a closed deal for Roger. Especially considering the sign of relief I felt in thinking the 2005's MC was a done deal and that happened to be the final he did lose.

It could be the blessing in disguise.. It can teach him a lesson .. that he should value every year of his career as it's not going to last forever.. Marat of last year could win a Slam, but could not be a dominant player, #1 player, consistent challenger to Federer.. As he could not keep his focus for any long time.. When Marat-2006 is healthy and back on tour, that could change..

Marat - to win a GS in 2006..

I heard that even the LA doctor (the famous one who fixed his arm) told him that it was better NOT to have the operation. Seems to have a Kimmie-type stubborn injury.

Best he doesn't rush back like he used to.

Its ok Marat will rebound and he doesn't have any points to defend on the hardcourt season so with those he should be able to pull up his ranking depending on how soon he comes back. All I know is that he may be one of the most talented players ranked in the 80s and it will be shame that he has to play a top 8 opponent as early as 4th round. He will not have easy draws.

Oh F*** :banghead:
I was still hoping there was a chance.

Well, he'll drop down to about 46 in the rankings but at least he'll have very few points to defend for the rest of the year. Except 150pts at RG and another 150 at Halle.
