Alex didn't play these last year either

I am sure he will resurface again in Washigton, like last year.

Perhaps he is also "pacing himself" for the US Open - he is also one of the "older" players now, remember.

And he is showing the top American players, "you don't play our top European clay MS events, so I won't play your hard court MS event." (j/k) :)
