Congrats, Taylor! I didn't see results from the USA's last RR match, but without that tie, Taylor was 3-0. Did Dent win all four of his matches? Good for him if he did.

If so, it likely went down like this?: AARP Raymond lost all her matches; Taylor won all his matches; they went 3-1 in mixed doubles including the final

Taylor lost one. Thomas Johannson bt him 7-6(5) 2-6 6-3, close. He was doing great all the week though!

Lisa partially redeemed herself by playing great in the mixed doubles matches. USA went undefeated in the doubles.

Taylor was on fire all week, from what I saw (I saw everything but the Johansson match). He has improved his movement, and it really helps him get into the net behind his serve quicker, so he could put all the volleys away. He was serving especially well, and excellent slice returns and volleys as well. If he continues to play like this he could do well at the AO.

Taylor! :woohoo: Congrats to USA! http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/travesmilies/flaggen1/smilie_flagge13.gif

This is really great to see Taylor finally picking his game and fitness up. I hope this year we'll finally see him join Blake, Roddick, and Ginepri as one of top young American players who can actually do some damage.

Well done for USA! :yeah:

The Netherlands really surprised very much with this great week they enjoyed at the Hopman Cup, coming from the qualifications and then making the final, Krajicek did well, Wessels also played up to his abilities, but I think that the doubles experience of Raymond along with Dent who knows what do at the net was a decisive factor that other teams could hardly match. USA recorded all wins with 2-1, so the mixed was the winner for them they could rely on.

It was great to finally see Taylor play in real life, and especially in such great form as he had against Schukin and then against Wessels, he was unstoppable. Great final, congrats USA.

Didn't feel like there were that many people rooting for the US though...Netherlands definitely had the majority of the crowds support last night

I hate to say it but gay women in sports is hardly shocking, and the fact that Lisa was outted is about as earth-shattering as Rosie O'Donnell coming out. Maybe Lisa didn't want to be outed yet, and that is her perogative and Stubby should have respected that.

But I'm still waiting for some musclehead macho Superathlete Hero to the Straight Boys to finally come out. David Beckham was a step in the right direction though. ;)

Lol.
Raymond's being gay is hardly a big secret; I thought it was common knowledge.
