Moya out of Basel

Spaniard Carlos Moya has pulled out of next week's Swiss Indoors because of a shoulder injury, organisers said on Saturday. The world number seven notified organisers of the Basel event after being beaten by compatriot Feliciano Lopez in the Madrid Masters on Thursday.

Spaniard Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo moves into the main field, which includes the leading three men in the world, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Andy Roddick and home favourite Roger Federer.

Organisers said that the three wild cards for the event have been handed to Swiss trio Marc Rosset, Michel Kratochvil and Stanislas Wawrinka.

oh wow that is really too bad for him. Hopefully he will be ok for Paris to get his spot in Houston!

Yes, it's a great shame for Carlos although I think he has probably done enough to qualify for Houston anyway. Hope he gets better soon though!
