Um...Tommy isn't the world's worst number 2, I thought that was Andy?

Hmm...I think Tommy can win he just needs to get his backhand to Federer's backhand and be really agressive. This match is going to be a hoot.

Tommy's BH has gone down hill while Roger's has gotten better over time. Andy won titles and had great results. Tommy only made the semis of OZ and didn't win a title in 02. He is the world worst number 2. 2002 was the worst tennis year unless you are a Hewitt fan.

Dirk I think you are taking Tommy a little too lightly. Do I need to remind you of their last match in Halle last year?

Tommy may not have achieved as much as other players who have been ranked as high as #2 however when he is playing well (and I saw him against Henman he was awesome) he can be very dangerous and if Roger hits the ball short Tommy will eat those shots up for breakfast. Roger needs to be very focused and use consistent and controlled agression without making too many UE's to affectively neutralize Tommy's big game. This won't be easy and he knows it.

In fairness to Tommy, he might have remained a top 10 player had he not experienced those injuries.

But I agree that his number 2 ranking was quite lucky. 2002 was a year in which Johansson and Costa won grand slams.

I always liked Tommy's tennis, clean technique without much ado, but he was not awesome in the Henman match. He needed 9(!) match points. And I saw his win against Juschnyi, today, too. Certainly, he is not to be taken lightly, but again he was far away from being awesome. Maybe Roger was not awesome either, I had no coverage. But I am very optimistic for Roger to get over this hurdle.
