Who will win the Hopman Cup?

I've posted the same thread on wtaworld and Serbia is leading. Let's do it on a men's point of view :)
What do u guys on MTF think?

Group A
Russia (Kuznetsova and Teimuraz Gabashvili who replaces Safin, the musketeer having withdrew)
USA (Lisa Raymond and Dent)
Sweden (Arvidsson and T.Johansson)
Serbia (Ana Ivanovic and Novak - very glamour team :hearts: )

Group B
Argentina (Gisela Dulko and Gaston)
Australia (Stosur and old Wayne Arthurs)
Germany (Groenefeld and Kiefer)
China (Shuai Peng and Peng Sun-who is he?) or Netherlands (Misa Krajicek -go lil'sister :D - and Wessels)

So which country will win???
The competition will be interesting...
With Safin withdrawing, chances of Russia are diminished as Gabashvili never really played well outside of Russia. My pick is USA vs Germany in the final with Germany winning.

I think the same final, but I don't think Novak will beat Kiwi. Well wait, it's a final.. so maybe Novak would. Anyway, SCG v. Germany in the final with SCG winning 2-1. :p

I`ll be delighted if Argentina or Serbia wins it....specially now that Marat withdrew.

Serbia - Ana can beat anyone there and Novak isn't too bad himself and yes, they also win the cuteness contest :)

I hope Argentina does, Gisela needs a bit more confidence about her game...and it wouls not hurt Gaston gaining some confidence too :D

:wavey: Serbia is again leading as on wtaworld...
Seems like Serbia is the favorite thus!
But I truly think Germany will beat them :
>i'd say Kiefer would beat Djokovic
>the match between Ana Ivanovic and ALena Groenefeld would be tight
>but Kiefer/Groenefeld is a much stronger team in doubles than Ana/Novak

Don't you agree? :D

Germany would have some chances, but Grönefeld injured her ankle at the end of last season and I'm not so optimistic about her play and if she immediately connect on her great form she had before the injury.

Being purely partisan, I'd like Dent and Raymond to win.

 me too but I have a feeling Germany may pull it off.
Germany first then, USA second.

hmm I also think that Germany, Serbia or the USA are gonna take the trophy, though I'd say that Serbia has a weaker mixed level, since neither djoko nor ivanovic are really experienced doubles players...in contrast to raymond / dent and particularly Kiefer + Groenefeld..... GERMANY

I don't know why so many voted for Serbia. Sure, Ivanovic is one hell of a player but Novak? He is just a shadow of himself. His fall will continue in 2006.

Uhm small misunderstanding, it's Novak Djokovic, the young gun, not Jiri Novak! That guy is still a Czech! :wavey:

I'm hoping the U.S. will win but Germany has a pretty strong team.

Ah fuck it. Every time I read Novak it's confusing me. Of course it's Djokovic, Jiri is from Czech Republic not Serbia. ;)
