He will never win Wimbly , not even with all the top 30 players injured at the same time during Wimbledon.

He's nothing but a serve ( thanks for his height ) , in fact without that serve i doubt a lot he would be a pro tennis player ( not even a futures player ).

Maybe a Finalist, if he makes some improvements. Never a champ. Grass is pretty one-dimensional these days, unless you're watching Roger Federer or Mario Ancic (whom hasn't bothered to show up since 2002), two players exhibit a classic style of play.

A lot of what you need has to do with a big serve. :)

Actually in Madrid Ivo' volleys were better than Andy Roddick's volleys. Ivo can play shots other than the serve.

i don't think he will

I don't think he can do it. If a player is capable of hold his serve, he has a chance to beat Ivo (Playing in same level, Ivo can beat Roddick and lose to Andre Sa). That's why he does not have any title in his career.

Ivo isn't a good volleyer , for me he has a mediocre volley , mediocre but not bad

If there will be a year where Federer,Roddick,Hewitt,Nadal,Safin,Nalbandian and other 3-4 players won't play at Wimbledon maybe yes, otherwise ABSOLUTELY NO.

I don't think that Karlovic can win Wimbledon at least not with Federer on the court healthy.

*fights urge to start poll 'will alex popp ever win...a match?'*
Of course he will win. Or, lose to Oscar Hernandez in the final. Right, GWH?

Karlovic would have problems even if Wimbledon had only players ranked 100 or worst.
I don't think he can do it, with Roger or not (he lost to Daniele this year, and Daniele is far from being king of tennis).

Of course, this poll is not a serious one. But let's not belittle the guy entirely. He beat some good players on grass- Hewitt(twice),ToJo, Gonzalez, Ljubicic, Lopez, Enquist, Srichaphan.

Possibly, given the following scenario:
R128: Opponent gets so frustrated with not being able to get a few serves in a row back that they end up smashing all their rackets and so can't continue. (Didn't this actually happen to Goran at some point? He ran out of rackets and had to stop.)
R64: Opponent gets knocked out when they misjudge a 140 mph serve and gets smacked on the head with it.
R32: Opponent gets a particularly hard forehand square in the bollocks (a la Andy Roddick at Queens), throws up and collapses (a la my friend a few weeks ago when a small child whose head was exactly at the level of his reproductive organs ran at him at about 40 mph and headbutted him).
R16: Opponent is distracted by a streaker who looks uncannily like his mum, which ruins his concentration for the rest of the match.
QF: Opponent ate some dodgy seafood for tea the night before and is suffering a bit.
SF: Opponent slips on the grass and breaks their leg.
F: Karlovic is blessed with some of that magic that Croatians seem to get on Centre Court (thinking Goran winning, Ancic over Fed and Karlovic over Hewitt here).

Although, I have to still say I voted 'No' :)

What would you do if this turned into fact. :rolls: :rolls:

It would have been easier in the early 1990's when the courts were faster at Wimbledon. Nobody would have broken his serve then.

I would be pissed that I didn't put all my savings on that 10 million to 1 chance of that happening ;)

Ivo is a magician compared to Roddick and Rusedski.

Even i give Feliciano Lopez more chances than him ...

Either of the two winning in Wimbly would be one of the greatest flukes ever :scared:

If he did the grass at Wimbledon would be slowed down even more.

The only way Karlovic can win is if everyone else dies
