I'm sure those shieks will put on a fine holiday. Isn't it every tennis player's dream to spent Christmas in the desert? ;) I bet they'd even let them create their own Nativity play.

Who got the wildcards for the main draw ??

Nathaliia
12-23-2005, 08:18 PM
We don't know a word about the WCs but we already know the Q draw.

Younes El Aynaoui (MAR, 1) bye
Luka Gregorc (SLO) - Maxim Filippov (KAZ, WC)
Thomas Krugg (GER, WC) - James Cerretani (USA)
Sascha Kloer (GER, 5) bye

Alexei Kedriouk (KAZ, 2) bye
Dmitri Sitak (RUS) - Alexey Barnikov (RUS, WC)
Vince Mellino (AUS) - Arthur Tafalla (, WC )
Mohammed Al Ghareeb (KUW, 8) - Artem Sitak (KAZ)

Karim Maamoun (EGY, 3) bye
John El Khoury (LIB, WC) - Saeed Farah (GBR, WC)
Sergey Yaroshenko (UKR) - Abdullah Magdas (KUW)
Orest Tereshchuk (UKR, 7) - Mohammed Khalid (KUW, WC)

Frantisek Cermak (CZE, 4) bye
Nenad Zimonjic (SCG) - Boris Vallejo ( , WC)
Sherif Sabry (EGY) - Matthias Krug (GER, WC)
Arnaud di Pasquale (FRA, 2)

It's amusing, isn't it? Younes to play with all those "i-dont-knows" even ATP dont know nationalities of some ...
At least we learned this crazy di Pasquale is still on tour.
And we know that Carlos Sanches is the supervisor :woohoo:

Nathaliia
12-23-2005, 08:25 PM
alright i checked, Boris Vallejo is from France, he's born in 1975 and played one event in his career so far (in Qatar futures in 2003), so I assume he's doing some hotel job over there ;) while Arthur Tafalla was born in 1989 and is from Philippines - he played two futures in Qatar (both after getting WC), in first he lost in 1st round 1/6 0/6 but in second he improved and lost in 1st round 1/6 1/6. He might have a talent. He's about to steal 3 games in his next match.

And now let me welcome everyone to the Challengers Thread in the new season :aparty:

Hi Emilita :wavey: The main draw comes out 7 p.m. local time... so I guess it's the same time of CET (Central European :p)

By now we have already some Q results
Luka Gregorc (SLO) def. Maxim Filippov (KAZ, WC) 6-0 6-2
James Cerretani (USA) def. Thomas Krugg (GER, WC) 6-1 6-3
Dmitri Sitak (RUS) def. Alexey Barnikov (RUS, WC) 6-0 6-1
John El Khoury (LIB, WC) - Saeed Farah (GBR, WC) 6-1 6-0

imo Kloer has good footwork, but not much power in his game and a weak serve. He is also whining on the court all the time. When I saw Kloer, Maximilian Abel, who was playing on another court, told him to shut up and he was right. So I'm not the biggest fan of Kloer, but still like the result against Younes. I don't see how that was possible though.

great to know especially about Adam both in singles and doubles. maybe it also means Gaba who played with Adam the double match is in shape. Gaba is the non-commercial version of Safin.

Good luck Denis against Gabaswili. Teimuras might be next Safin so take him
very serious. You´ve also played great overwhelming Tomas Zib 6:3,6:1 and then
Ouhab 7:5,7:5.
This might go for three sets and I keep my hopes up for Denis to conquer Teimura.
I think Denis is one of the best German players in Challenger and I hope that you
play this season more tournaments on the highest ATP level.

Good luck also for Klör against Pless.

The win against Younes El Aynaoui in the last round of Q 2-6 6-3 6-3 gave Kloer a lot of confidence. I don't think Younes played that bad. We'll check this out next week in the main event. I still believe Younes will make it once again in the Top 50 in 2006. He's on the right track.
