It's very unlikely that Marat will be fit at AO.

Agassi and either Nadal or Federer. If Andre is going to win one more slam, it is probably going to be in Australia, but he will need to get through Rafa, Roger (or both!) to do it. Normally I would add Safin here as well, but I doubt he will be 100% by the AO.

Roddick-Hewitt...something tells me these guys may come to blows someday. I'd like to see them in the same half of the draw for a change.

I am under the impression that AO 2006 is going to be full of surprises, many big names going out early, since there are a lot of up-and-coming players out there and the surface gives chance almost to every profile of player. I agree with cedez that Agassi could be a story, since it is not impossible for him to eventualy win A0 2006.
No particular match-up crosses my mind, but I hope we will see Federer against some youngster such as Nadal, or Gasquet, or Djokovic.

If Nalby can take out Fed at the 4th round/QF stage too then Andre could win another AO.. let's hope so!

Now that I've thought about it a little more, I would really like to see an Agassi/Nadal rematch. I saw them play in Montreal, and thought that if Andre hadn't had to finish his match against Rudseki earier that day, he might have been able to pull off the upset. As it was, I just don't think he had enough left in the tank. It would be interesting to see them play when they are both fresh.

Does anyone know how fast the court will be. Lleyton was very troubled last year by the slowness of the court.

Don't know the answer to your question; I do know that Rafter lobbied for a faster surface before he retired.

A faster surface would change the speed balance of the grand slams which currently provides a good speed distribution.

I hope to God Safin will be fit, healthy, and with the potential to duplicate his success at this year's AO. If so, a Safin- Federer rematch would be satisfying as well as Safin-Nadal. Nadal-Roddick would be good too just so I can see Roddick losing...hehe...:)
