Has this ever happened before or is this another record for JesusFed?

He did double bagel Hewitt at last year's USO, but at least Hewitt brought him to a tb in the 2nd set.

This I know, so my question should be "Is Federer the first to win a match against a top 10 player with 6-0 6-0?"

That US Open final was a cracker, it's so much more fun to double bagel Hewitt than Gaudio :) But unfortunately Hewitt did manage to win some games.

A record is a record, no matter how bad your opponent is playing. In 100 years no one is gonna remember Gaudio anyway, but the record will still stand, probably.

Do you really think there could be a macht where one player wins 6-0 6-0 and the other player doesn't play like :retard: ?

:yeah:

LOL, I remember to this day a bunch of idiots praising Davenport to death because she played such an unbelievable match to double-bagel Sharapova in Indian Wells SF. Please! Sharapova was even more :retard: than Gaudio today.

That's true, and Sharapova came back to have a reasonable year, and to beat Dav in the year-end tourney. So let's not write Gaudio off right away.

It's just announced that it's the first time in Federer's career that he double-bagelled his opponent and didn't let his opponent win one single game. And it's the first time that a double-bagel was served in year-end tournament...

Lendl def. Connors at the Forest Hills WCT on clay in 1984 6-0, 6-0.

Connors was the #3 player in the world at the time. He was 25-2 coming into that match and had won 2 titles. He had lost to JMAC in the finals of a tournament and someone else before that brutal match. Connors led the overall series 11-4 going into that match.

Amazing the number of times Lendl figures in tennis records. Despite far less ability than John McEnroe he did achieve far more in singles. Head to head he lead both John and Jimmy.

Yep, although both were past their primes when he played them, but it could be said that Lendl wasn't quite in his prime then either. :) JMAC beat Lendl in 6 different finals in 1984 and lost the RG final to him. Some of them were just brutal beatdowns. JMAC got bored, left the game and thought all would be the same when he came back but found that Lendl had gotten much stronger and better.

Nice one, so not another record for JesusFed.

edit: :topic: I also see Lendl manager to beat Connors 17 straight times, damn.

I will look it up
I am sure after today Roge is a good candidate
But I also remember leyton getting a few some years ago, I remember double bagel for Robbi from leyton.

Between January 2002 and today, Roger has given out 27 bagels
Between Jan 2003 and today, Roger gave out 23 bagels
Between Jan 2004 and today, Roger gave out 17 (2004 was his year to give out Exactly One Dozen bagels!)
This year "only" 5 bagels, two of which are today

I think Roge is the leading Baker of the Tour :)

No, it's probably a claycourter. Coria has given out more bagels than Federer in the past few years, this year it's Nadal...
But I have no idea for the whole career, sorry.

Last year, Roger won thy oh so prestigous(a term going around a lot in this forum) Golden Bagel award, for handing out the most bagels throughout the season. I think it was something along the lines of 11 bagels.
