Good luck to Moodie!

Monaco and Berlocq should have chosen Chennai over Doha. The field there is weaker than here next year, as it usually is.

I'm sure they have their reasons :) Actually Juan is 2nd alternate at the Adelaide Tournament this same week, - so almost certainly he will go there instead as there are usually at least two withdrawals from the main draw - especially at this time of year.

Well, the Adelaide field is the strongest of this week. Even if he gets in the main draw (and I think he probably will), he'll likely have a hard time reaching the final stages. But, as you said, he must have his own reasons to make such a decision. :)

Being realistic, I don't think he expects to get to the final stages of a hard court tounrey at this stage of his career - he is very much more geared up for the clay court tournaments in South America and then Europe - so this is more like warm-up and practice with the (hopeful) chance of a few points :) I definately agree Adelaide has a good field this year.

Why is Max playing here? Considering his bad form at the end of last season and the strong field in Doha, it would have been better for him to play in Chennai. He would have had a great shot to make the semis there.

Gasquet says in L'Équipe today that he's not completely sure to play in Doha. He hopes so, but his main goal is the AO and he won't take any risk. He hopes he can start to practice again very soon (maybe at the end of the week), but he must have another MRI first.

Costa announced a few weeks ago that he had decided to play on for another year. Eurosport are broadcasting it for a couple of hours a day if that is any help to you.

How come Doha offer more race points to the winner of the tournament (50) and even prize money compare to Adelaide and Chennai (35 pts.) even though the three tournaments have the same number of players in their entry list which is 32?

Fee
12-30-2005, 06:02 AM
The difference is prize money, not the size of the draw. Prize money determines entry system points, which determines race points (and the race is useless until about August anyway, but we won't get into that here). :D
