oh i will write about the ones i have seen live

Monfils (everything... game and the spirit)
Coria ( m a g i c )
El Aynaoui (beautiful fairplay and reactions)
Safin (it's quite entertaining when he wants to lose so much in a small ATP tourney)
Korolev (p o w e r - i haven't seen it even on Nadal's matches  )
Gabashvili (the personality... but better sit somewhere safe in the crowd when he starts to go nuts)
Calleri (maestry... when he's in shape)
Acasuso (you never know, what happens next!)
Ryderstedt (just the general impression ;) and the irony :yeah: )

and I should mention David Nalbandian because I adore his game, but the match of his I have seen live, was terrible. Still, he deserves to be placed here.

Santoro

and then, in no particular order

Safin (because you never know what you'll get)
Federer (because you always know what you'll get)
The Bryan Brothers (because they're an exciting doubles pair)
Hewitt (I love his game and all the emotion...good, bad and ugly)
Henman and Dent (because they're the last of the s/v-ers)
Baghdatis (because that smile can light up an entire stadium)

Being a clay lover my choices are pretty obvious, but:

1 - Gaudio
2 - Puerta
3 - Nadal (it amazes and entertain me the incredible balls he hits and FYI I'm not his fan)
4 - Safin
5 - Blake
6 - Nalbandian
7 - Moya
8 - Guga (he's playing very little, he surely should be higher but  )
9 - Ferrer
10 - Cañas

Some of these guys have particularly entertained me this year (Nadal, Blake and Ferrer), the rest are just entertainers IMHO. ;)

Gotta change my #10 pick coz I've just realised he's not "active" right now... Denial???

My #10 would be then Henman ;)

No order :

- Fernando Gonzalez
- Marat Safin (I'm not one of his biggest fans but I admit that it's always interesting to see him play, things can happen)
- Roger Federer (I'm not a fan but he's great to watch, tennis is easy)
- Carlos Moya (the most interesting spanish player to watch)
- Rafael Nadal (this year on clay, yes, he was entertaining)
- Andre Agassi (respect)
- James Blake
- Tim Henman
- Jonas Björkman/Max Myrnii
- Guga (in Roland-Garros)

I like watching Ferrer when he fights.
Monfils is very energetic which is good.
Ollie Rochus's talent defies belief.
Henman - always entertainment when he plays, unfortunately it is often very painful...but a good workout! :haha:
Volandri's game on anything other than clay...pure class! :tape:

I go along 50%.

Federer, for sheer professionalism. Even on bad days, it is entertaining to see him digging himself out.

I guess I warm also to Hewitt but he has to be playing well. No fun to see him being demolished by Fed.

1. Federer .. no need to comment
2. Safin ... also no need
3. Agassi .. just like it when someone can hit so clean and flat without much of crappy topspin..
4. Kiefer .. The closest to top 3 talent-wise, but a supreme headcase
5. Gasquet
6. Gonzalez
7. Blake .. when he is on, he hits a delightful ball
8. Lopez .. Have to throw a bone to lefty-lovers
9. Malisse .. Co-ruler of The Headcase Kingdom, but so much talent
10. Santoro .. Can do so much with a ball.. Unfortunately .. no longer competitive against top guns..

OK and the list of least entertaining players:

1. Hewitt.. tops the list for me..
2. Nadal I don't mind topspin as a weapon.. just can't stand it as the only method of payment
3. Roddick if it was not for his delightful serve, would have topped this list easily
4. Ginepri I just don't know why he gets me bored ..
5. Davydenko And that, given I am a fan..
6. Andreyev I hate Spanish school, seeing a Russian to follow it is almost devastating

How is Roger missing from a few of these lists ? Wow, if you don't find Roger entertaining, then I don't know what to say for your tennis knowledge. Atleast one could admire or appreciate what he does. Then again, different strokes for different folks. Occasionally I find myself perplexed by the fact ppl find other players (no names) the slightest bit entertaining, maybe that's the case here.

What does Federer do?
Winning is not always entertaining:rolleyes:
He's not as emotional as for example Murray, Gaudio, Gonzalez,....
I like to see when someone thinks he plays great (c'mon, vamos, or whatever)
Then If they think, that they're playing bad, they smash their rackets, that's something special.

But things will change now, who knows if he ever can play that good again:shrug: :)

1) Fernando Gonzalez - his game is just so explosive, you cant ignore it.
2) James Blake - I could see him hit forehands and run down every ball all day long.
3) David Nalbandian - his serve sucks, but that's what makes him so appealing. his ground game is so solid.
4) Sebastien Grosjean - one player who has ALL the shots but not the mental power. i love watching him play.
5) Andre Agassi - i love the way he picks apart his opponent's game. it's hard to dictate against him. despite his mobility issues, it's hard to beat him.
6) Fabrice Santoro - he's called the magician for a reason.
7) Marat Safin - Marat's Marat. need i say more?
8) Guillermo Coria - lack of power but his speed is amazing!
9) Roger Federer - his game is stunning, but his lack of emotion puts me off.
10) Younes El-Aynaoui - He's fun to watch because of his personality. and there'll definitely be a few brilliant shots from him when he plays.

If you only find tennis on ATP tournament level entertaining, then I don't know what to say about your tennis knowledge. Watching Federer is not a bit entertaining to me compared to the players on my list.

Santoro - go watch Fed/Santoro US open match. The crowd was cheering as though it was a soccer match, doing the wave etc. They couldn't get enough of him! Absolutely amazing, it's obvious why he's called the Magician.

Federer - obvious reasons. For those who keep insisting he has no emotion, where have you been for the last 3 Wimbledons (and the earlier part of his career)? He's cried every time he's won and it's obvious that there's a lot of pent-up pressure, just because you don't *always* see it doesn't mean it's not there.

Safin - who doesn't love this guy? While Fed's moved on from his racquet breaking days, we still have Marat when we need a fix.

Gasquet - this boy is absolutely impressive. Can you fall in love with a backhand? I have.

Greatest entertainment for me: a very heated match with Hewitt or Coria. Hewitt's run at the AO with all the antics and the drama against Blake and Chela was a highlight of 2005.
Gaudio cracks me up too with his crazy reactions.
Safin.
Malisse...

For the shotmaking only, not for the attitude on the court, I enjoy watching a lot of Frenchies like Gasquet, Santoro, Grosjean...

On the other hand, I have a problem with many players who are supposed to be great entertainers like El Aynaoui, Baghdatis or Noah, Becker in the past... It's too much show for me, I just feel irritated then.
