Up in the north-east corner of England. A long way even from London (to us Brits anyway, I suppose to an American the distance is nothing!) :D

And I'm not sure how cold London is at the moment but it is certainly decidedly parky up here!

Suprisingly warm weather forecast for sunderland for this time of year, we'd love to see you Fee, Newcastle is the nearest airport! :wavey:

Does anyone know how many drop outs there have been, there's usually loads this time of year?

Interestingly he is playing doubles with richard bloomfield this week, that is what you call a step up!

i've got money on adam being wimby 2008 champion :rolls:

its from the fact that on another MB someone clamied that the reason adam wasn't winning was that he was struggling with his racket string tension and once he had sorted it out he woukld start winning.
i guess he ment winning points not games tho.

Oh this year I attended one match in Sopot quallies between Albert Portas and totally unknown, unranked local junior player. When losing something like 1/6 0/5 (I don't really remember the score however I guess it's worth being remembered) the junior shouted towards the crowd: "It's because of my racket!". :wavey:

I think Adam deserves some credit for carrying on in the face of adversity (not winning a set). Most of us would have given up in shame long before now.

He is 19, and has a lot of potential but struggles to fulfill it most of the time. I`ve never seen him play but he`s supposed to have a lot of power at his disposal. I guess this win over Vico (777 places higher than him) is a career-best win, hopefully a turn-around in his results. Up until now, he`s been mostly playing on the British Satellite tour this year. I might be wrong but I think he was at the Bollitieri Academy a while back.

Reached the final of Wimbledon Juniors losing to Gael Monfils (7-5 7-6 or something similar)

Injured shoulder may explain, at least in part, his failure to make much progress in the senior ranks. But is meant to have some potential if not the application needed to make it in the professional ranks.

Why Philipp Petzschner is so poor player in singles but good in doubles?
Maybe if he gets pro coach he might be next Federer...
I hope he won´t give up playing singles.
It really sucks to see so many German average players..where are the next Federer-alike?
Maybe they are in US...Im thinking of Benedikt Dorsch and Benjamin Becker..
But they are already over 25 year-olds

try to call now, there's a lass and she doesn't know what it's all about.

geez i really cannot wait till Wrocław challenger! i am gonna punch the scoreboarder (actually... emergency is 5 minutes on foot from People's Hall) and ask my attractive tennis playing friends to make tournaments' office lads busy and i'll grab the phone and will be waiting for the calls from guys from MTF and especially PatatRiek

and seriously speaking, from AZS Hall there is no scoreboard (I don't know what will be this year because the headmaster of the tournie is changing and all the officials in the factory KGHM - the sponsor - are already changed... also the press office crew is going to be changed) so the phone calls seem to be not avoided.

He won't give up. He is unfortunately one of those players who can beat top100 and can lose to a no.1000 as well. :o It will be interesting to see, whether he starts playing the German futures in January or the Australian tournaments. I would prefer Australia. I hope he can defend his German Championship title in two weeks and earn a WC for Hamburg again! He would need it. :)

And for German tennis, I think that Andi Beck will be the next player, who will stay in the top100 for a long time.

Brits are going down in their home tournament. It just shows that these Future
tournaments in Britain are always so easy for Brits because there are one, two, three
maximum vier foreigner players. Now that it´s Challenger level Brits are losing one by
one. I hope Waske will blow away with his serve first Udom-joke and then Bocanovic.
White power rules as today Alex Waske blew away Indian player Parmar 76,76.

Come on ALEX you can do it. Keep your cool and mind OK and you will take Sunderland
title with Kohlschreiber winning in Reunion Isles.

yee. and as i love telling stories while the match is livescored, to calm down all the bad gamblers (no according to Prabu heh), now the match is finished but i still can say smth about our finalist ;)
Of course, he played this year in Wrocław. I saw 2 matches of his... Once i wanted to support him in AZS Hall, but he was playing Geroge Bastl and there wasn't much space so Marc Rosset sat next to me, to support Bastl, so I had to support the Swiss as well cos Marc had a bad face while looking at me clapping for Alex.

I have one more story, but it'll be for tomorrow. Oh ... maybe not, tomorrow I'll be gone. So here it goes:

The quaterfinal. Alex was playing the eventual winner, Robin Vik (CZE) and was losing and there was one drunk guy who was shouting: "Hello Bogdanovic!" - Alex re-broke and won the set. In the second set the situation was similar, the guy was shouting "Heja Hej Alex" while Vik was going nuts and bananas but then the security removed the no#1 fan and Alex lost that match in 3.
