Towards the end of Chang's career, he decided to bulk up for extra power. There was a trade-off though, he lost a great deal of mobility. Because that went against his natural game (and I don't think it benefited him in the strength department either), his results suffered for it.
Gael is still young though, and 4kg isn't really much on his 191cm frame. It seems to have gone straight to his biceps anyway. :lol:

I remember it was an issue for Coria too when he tried to bulk up a little bit with Perlas because they wanted to change his game and his serve. But you're right, both Chang and Coria are much shorter, the comparison is not apt.

There are a few sites where I have seen this year's nike line, and now that Raf has changed his look, I didn't see any sleeveless shirts in the mix, hopefully they will have some. I have always wanted some sleeveless lacoste stuff, maybe he should think about switching, ;)
I am very interested to see Gael play, he already has so much power, and I'm sure he could afford to lose just a bit of mobility if he steps about 2 feet closer to the baseline in rallies. Either way, his arms are huge...I bet Hewitt is frowning at his '05 rasheed days

So they have to pay a fine whenever they have a warning ? I thought it was only the previous step of seeing a point given to the opponent. Maybe the ump should have come along with Rafa during the bathroom break to check by himself if Gaël was faking or not :smash:

They look great together, Gaël and Rasheed. I think Rasheed is a funny and sensitive guy even if he doesn't show it in front of the cameras, and Gaël really seems to like him as a person as much as a coach. Plus Rasheed already lasted longer than most of Gaël's coachs so hope is allowed :lol:

Yeah I had a moment there when they began to warm up under my nose. Gilles was the closest to me and I went :spit: no, this handsome man can't be my cute little Poussin ! Honestly, he has an inconscious grace and lightness (légèreté ?) that is seen a little on tv, but live and from so close... waouh quoi. But I looked a lot at Gaël too, after the first 10 minutes of shock :lol:

The guys next to me were talking about Schüttler all the time, I was thinking they were quite the Shaker fanboys, really, and it took me AGES to realize they were talking of him because he was actually playing. ^^
Maybe it's the opposite for Gaël and he looks better in pics than in person, I can't judge since Gaël Monfils has been successfully hiding away from me for a while now! He always withdraws from the events I'm going to. He really doesn't like Hamburg. But he won't escape again this year - je l'aurai.

The reps system is easier to explain in French:
Les points de réputation, tu peux oublier. Si tu as eu trop de "bad reps" (quand les gens cochent "I disapprove" avant d'envoyer le message), les petits points en dessous de ton avatar passeront au rouge, je trouve ça franchement douteux comme principe. Mais ça ne risque pas de t'arriver.
C'est surtout un moyen rapide de faire passer des petits messages, de remercier, de dire qu'on a apprécié un truc... Quand un post me fait sourire, je le signale à la personne avec une "good rep", je ne trouve pas que ce soit d'un grand intérêt général de citer publiquement tout son post pour ajouter un petit ":lol:" en dessous. C'est drôlement pratique, en fait, ces "reps", ça me manque sur les autres forums.
Tu n'es vraiment pas obligée d'y répondre. Mais si tu veux y répondre, il faut trouver un post de la personne en question et lui envoyer toi-même une "good rep". Tu ne peux pas y répondre directement.
Je ressors le screenshot que j'avais fait pour soulage il y a peu de temps car elle avait le même problème!

Maybe it's the opposite for Gaël and he looks better in pics than in person, I can't judge since Gaël Monfils has been successfully hiding away from me for a while now! Don't worry, Gaël was perfectly okay to look at, even a lot better than that :lol: He can go through so much expressions on his face or only with his eyes, it's so funny. But beyond the handsomness, what I enjoyed the most were all the jokes, the smiles and the sweet gestures they had for each other, like when at 1-0 in the second set, Gaël took Gilles' bottle first and gave it to him before picking up his own like it was all perfectly normal. I can't help it, I find it so cute and touching that they're so close. I'm such a fangirl :lol:

:) This will happen sooner or later, anyway. I know that everyone revels about Jo's mickey mouse tournamant wins, but I feel that Gael had the best French results in 2009 so far, too bad, that he also the injuries and stomach problems. I am a Monfils fan but one thing that is disappointing is his failure to win a title he has been in a number of finals but that final push to win is not there.I watched the Acapulco match and felt like he was not serious enough to beat Almagro.
I think his losses in finals are psychological and needs to work on that aspect,I hate to see a player like him failing when it matters.I believe once he wins that elusive title we will see a champion in Monfils.

Yes, it's frustrating and it's definitely a psychological problem, he admits it himself, it was so obvious in Acapulco again. But it'll make his next title only better. Supporting Gaël Monfils is a lesson of patience anyway. :p
@ Marion: I just meant that if he's only 5th player, he won't be either in the official pics of the draw and the press conference of the draw ceremony anymore. It's just the 4 players who are on the team then.
But maybe he will be one of them. And he'll be in plenty of pics, I can't wait to see the pics of the DC dinner with the 4 guys together.

Richard is just playing in doubles for the time being, Gaël was no option in doubles anyway. That was one of the points against him.
But it's tough to be top 10 and once again only alternate, of course, it will be bitter to watch his friends play when he has his best ranking ever, no wonder he looks sad in the pics.

I remember Rasheed played once in doubles with Lleyton in Rotterdam when he was coaching him, I'm not surprised to hear he's still playing quite well.

I find the outfit itself pretty bad, but it looks OK on Gaël imo because of his black skin and because he looks great in sleeveless shirts by definition. Now I hope they have other models for Delpo & Co!

I don't know, it's on the tournament website, it just says "Gael Monfils at the Party Tour in Mary Brickell Village on Friday night".
Robredo also posed with his cheerleaders, but it looks like only Richard had to "perform".
Delpo was wearing another version of the outfit, same design, but lime green with white stripes, it doesn't look bad. I prefer that to the red thing with the silver arrows.

Gaël looks so cute on the bench. This time even I noticed the tatoos on the wrists in the pic where he has the arms crossed behind his head, they're really big.
(He should practice shirtless like the others when it's that hot! I'm usually not so much into shirtless pics, but Gaël's body is a thing of beauty.)

His forehand really looks like Gaël's to me. I'm going to RG next month, I hope he'll be playing juniors so I can figure out :D

I hope he is! I read he was ranked 2/6 last year, which is pretty impressive for a 14 years old, but I don't know if it's good enough. Do they have to go through qualifs or something ? How do they decide who plays ? Even if he's not high-ranked enough, maybe he can enter the draw thanks to a WC :shrug: Okay, I just want to see him :lol:
His eyes are very similar to Gaël imo. He does still have normal hair, but for how long, with such a brother ? :p
