So we know he has a WC here, and I wonder who he may play..... Henman is possible, Federer not playing in his hometown so no rematch...

The BBC showed delayed coverage of the Bangkok final. Will there be any delayed coverage of Basel?

Has the draw been made yet??

Hopefully a good week for Andy here, not much of the season left, so let's see if he can grab some of the big points potentially available.

Strong field, he could even net Nadal, that would be a nice match, but not too nice a draw...

A qualifier would be nice, then someone like Gaudio who can't play indoors or doesn't have the motivation in round two.

Duncan

Coverage is on eurosport 2 as of tomorrow :woohoo:

Murray v Henman in 1st round is definately the tie of the round

Good luck to Alan Mackin also!

Oh well.. not the best draw, Henman! But I believe Andy can pull off a seeding scalp! C'mon!

Henman will struggle on his serve against andy bigtime. Should be a great game to watch! But all the momentum is with Andy whilst henman on recent form appears to be petering out. No doubt he will be out to show the young charge who is still the master, but i think gamewise, henman is a good test for Andy, and we should be confident of him coming through!!!

His draw is OK. I'd love to see him play Berdych in the next round, that would be a good match up between two great young players!

musefanatic

Hand on heart i think andy's gonna win which may be a shame for tim. But i'm sure he won't mind if he loses to a good player like andy. Anyway, we'll see what happens!

 Ain't it the truth? The one time we have more than one player in a tournament, two of them play eachother first round! Typical :ras: But i'm really really really excited about the match. I'm praying that it's not an anti-climax (for me Tim winning, would be that :p)

Maime

Can't wait, looking forward to this match. I'm also very glad that the BBC have paid for the rights to show the match. I know that they probably won't show another match in this tournament, even with Murray or Henman in, but it's better then nothing! Least now I don't have to watch crappy Eurosport coverage!!

I'd like Murray to win, because I can't see Tim winning two matches in a row. Should be a good one. If Tim brings his great serve + volley game to the carpet court tomorrow then he definately has a chance. He says that the carpet courts are faster then the grass at Wimbledon now, and so it suits his style of play.

Come on....erm...Andy!!!

Beautiful match, some great points but it was tense because of the friendship between the countrymen, Andy shedding tears at the end was some sight, so proud of him, and so are all his fans! :)

Bring on Berdych! Different game to Henman's, but let's hope for the same result.

I have never seen Berdych play. Anybody who has, what sort of chance do you think Andy has against him?

ClaycourtaZzZz.
10-27-2005, 11:14 AM
hmmm....

Not really good, Berdych serves very well and hits clean winners all the time, Andy has to play offensive to beat him...

Its gonna be a pretty even match. Tomas can be very inconsistant but on his good days can be very very good.

Lets hope Andy is fully focused and can kick ass  :D:D

Go Andy!!

He is out to conquer Fed Kingdom!!

Now he has Gonzalez in the next round! I fear that the man from Chile could be a little bit too good for Murray at the moment. But he is always in with a chance!!

Gonzo may be too much for him; but tonight was another great victory for Andy and a very good scalp. He didn't play his best but he beat a very classy youngster in berdych!

Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm wondering that myself. The qualifying for Paris is on Saturday so, if he progresses to the semis of Basel, he won't be able to qualify. AMS Paris could hand him an SE (Special Entree) but they are usually handed out to home (in this case French) players.

Great progress, it's just unbelievable what's happened since Queen's, beyond my wildest dreams! :woohoo:, but to beat Fernando, another of my faves, would be the best win he's had for sure! Come on!

decrepitude
10-27-2005, 11:16 PM
If I am reading the entry points correctly (and there is no guarantee that I am!), if Andy could get to the semis in Basel then he would get 75 points; wouldn't he have to win 3 qualifying matches and then 2 matches in the main draw in Paris to get the same total? I may be wrong on this, I'm not sure how qualifying points work.

MullerGasquetFan
10-28-2005, 12:52 AM
Go Andy! I hope you win! Gonzalez will be hard but u can do it! Maybe! You have to think positive!

Duncan
10-28-2005, 06:27 AM
In the Paris Masters Forum it says Andy is out of the qualies! what does this mean? Has he been awarded a WC for main draw perhaps?

I didn't expect him to defeat Gonzo, he is a class above. If Gonzo could just control his game a little bit more then he would be a top ten player.

Still, I thought Murray did brilliantly well to take a set off him. This time next year, Andy will be beating the likes of Gonzalez!
