I hate to admit it, but Andy looks like JCF did in the RG final - absolutely determined, focused and flawless. :eek: Not liking this at all.

Roddick actually outplayed Ferrero on the baseline on some of those points :eek:

JC is handling Andy's serve well by just blocking it back. Some aces he just won't get. What he's GOT to do is hold serve. He's also adjusted his returns by not giving Andy as much power to work with. Right now he looks discouraged, but, I think changing the pace on the return was the right move. When he has a chance for the winner, he needs to slam it home, though.

Well, what do you expect with Andy serving like that. The games are over in a hurry. JC's not serving badly either at the moment. These are express games. I think there were only 2 break points in the entire set. On that JC missed and one that Andy took.

Ferrero is very frustrated. I hope he figures out what to do with Andy's serve.

Roddick usually goes down the T with his first serve when serving to deuce court, and out wide when serving to AD court. Some people read his serves very well (Federer, Hewitt) but many do it very poorly. Key is to block them back, and then work your way in from the backcourt.

It's easy to behave like a champ when everything is going your way. ;) If Ferrero had won the first set, it would have been a different story. But seriously, I'm impressed too. He acted like a champ in that he didn't let Ferrero win the first set.

Roddick's backhand is actually very mediocre...Nalbandian was winning like 75% of all baseline points yesterday, unfortunately he choked :( Roddick is one of those players who is very beatable when you figure his weaknesses, if you don't you'll lose very badly.
