Agassi(1) vs Coria(5) 1-2* Guillermo gets the early break! :bounce:

Guillermo calls the trainer for a bloody cut on his right thumb. It looks yucky! I think he already had it when the match started.

Scotso

2*-1 Coria :D

vamos!

jmp
09-05-2003, 05:54 PM
Doggone it! Andre breaks back. :( Guillermo looks like a wounded soldier with a big bandage on his thumb and he pulled up short on his leg during his last service game. I hope he can put up a fight. Good rallies so far. Mary and JMac are pronoucing Guillermo DOA because his leg has taken his heart out of it.

Agassi(1) vs Coria(5) 3-2 on serve

jmp
09-05-2003, 06:17 PM
Agassi(1) vs Coria(5) 6-4 Both men are nibbling at each other's serves, still only one break each. I think Andre will break first because of his experience and Guillermo's numerous injuries. Andre takes the first set with his second break. :( :(

1st set TB David/Younes

Younes FH in the net

1-0 David BH wide

1-1 David BH volley winner

2-1 Younes inside out FH long

3-1 David - great serve Younes return long

4-1 Younes missed volley David's return at his feet

5-1 Younes serves...David unreturnable

5-2 David two serves...1st serve fault; David BH DTL

6-2 Younes BH in the net

Younes got discouraged when he was serving for the set because David hit a lob that Younes let go and it landed right in the corner. He never recovered.

1st set David!!

jmp

lin
09-05-2003, 11:57 PM

jmp
09-05-2003, 11:58 PM
David is getting tight. :( He's played the better overall match, but, he might have to prove it in 5 OR get manuevered out of the "W".

Younes breaks in the 4th, *3-2. Focus, David, if you want to go to the show!

lin
09-06-2003, 12:11 AM

09-06-2003, 12:29 AM
Oh my goodness!! Younes throws in two aces to get out of double MP and then there's a controversial line call giving Younes game point. Back to deuce (#2). MP David Crowd is very vocal!

GAME SET MATCH DAVID!!! :bounce: :bounce: Nice hug at the net.

Nice fight, Younes. :D :D

:bounce: Go David Go!! :bounce:

KarstenBraasch#1
09-06-2003, 12:29 AM
But he lost still. Damn. :(

The key game of the match was when Younes failed to serve out the first set at 6-5.

But as long as Nalbandian beats AR tomorrow ... (which is unlikely as he will probably be as flat as a pancake)

jmp
09-06-2003, 12:37 AM
GoDom, I'm big on Younes. But, his 31 year old legs were already depleted coming into this match and David has the more solid game. I'm not looking for him to beat Andy tomorrow. But, I feel like a David/Andy match up will be more competitive than a Younes/Andy match up. I just hope David can get all the electrolytes, rest, etc. he needs to put in his best performance tomorrow.

KarstenBraasch#1
09-06-2003, 12:56 AM
I know. If Younes had won in 5 they could have as well given Andy a bye into the semis. But still ...
