Carson is the replacement for Covington, Louisianna (which was cancelled after Hurrican Katrina). Orlando is a late addition to the Calendar.

Of course I have no desire to go and this tournament is closer to me than the M-B Cup or the Calabasas Challenger . Only 30 minutes by bus compared to 60 minutes plus to get to Calabasas or UCLA. Looks like it could be a nice draw though with Janko Tipsarevic and a few others expected to play.

Noam and Harel are my Jewish Harem. Those two nearly killed me last week. I was taking Noam off somewhere and Harel said he was jealous. Later, I took Harel on a quick shopping trip and when Noam found out he said he was jealous. Then they argued over who had to stay in synogogue longer to list his sins on Yom Kippur. I was a bit sad when they left, but I'll see them again in a week so, yay!

Cobalt, you might want to make sure you get to Sudbury for qualies on the 29th, there could be some very competitive matches there. Oh, what the hell, stay for the whole week! The men's and women's challenger/futures scheds are at USTA.com, click on 'Pro Circuit' and that will tell you what's happening and when. :D

Okies, I have a teensy bit of info about Carson. They are not using the big tennis stadium for this event because it is not cost effective, so that's a relief. There will be four final round qualie matches on Monday, so there will only be 4 main draw matches on the schedule, of the 7 that could possibly be played (there are rules about playing on Monday if you were in a Sunday final, so the Calabasas guys couldn't play on Monday). There will be 12 first round matches on Tuesday, which means that the guys I want to see might all be scheduled, but they could all be on at the same time! (Be careful what you wish for, I guess). And yes, it looks like Noam has probably pulled out as well, but the person I asked wasn't absolutely sure.

Hey everyone, I'll give you a little bit of my day today, mostly the social stuff because I did not see any one match completely (there were just too many of them and it made me a bit crazy).

Simon Stadler was the first player I saw and spoke to today, since he was on the closest practice court. I spoke to Michael Yani next, so say goodbye since he was heading off to Boston soon. As I was walking over to the next court, where Noam was warming up, Dudi looked up and shouted my name, which really surprised me. I sat and waited for them to finish, so I could see how Noam was feeling today. He didn't say much, but he didn't sound very optimistic. I walked with the 2 of them back to the main court which was next to the players area. After that, I began my afternoon of running from match to match, seeing a little bit of everything, but nothing completely. So I have no real idea what happened anywhere today.

Noam did not look 100%. Heck, he barely looked about 60%, but he fought through his match until the end and I admire that. He is heading home, but he thinks that both he and Harel will try to play some European Challengers before the season ends. I saw a good portion of Justin's match and thought he was in serious trouble when he went down 1-4, and 2-5 in the 1st, but then he fought back, winning 4 games in a row and getting to the TB. He was really pumped up after that and cruised in the 2nd set.

I missed a lot of Amer's match because I was watching JanMike and Goran Dragicevic practice. I did see about half of Glenn's match against Donald Young and once again, it is obvious that Young is not ready to play with the big boys. Glenn seemed to handle him pretty easily. I am very fond of you Glenn, but you have to lose tomorrow. Sorry hun. :D

Tomorrow will be a much easier day for me, so I will be able to just sit in one place and watch tennis for most of the day. What a relief.

Word, I'm back.
Amer is lovely... And he just kind of overpowered Andre today. He could pull out the aces when he needed to, but more importantly he was moving very well on most of the points. For a relatively big guy, he's pretty athletic and he doesn't look all awkward and dorky like some of the other tall guys.

Dudi came up to me this morning, and before I could say anything, he told me that Noam wanted him to say goodbye to me, and tell me that he hopes to see me again soon. Well that was very sweet and it made me all melty, but I recovered fast enough to tell Dudi that since the others had left, he was the only one around to give me my Israeli love. He just kind of blushed and shuffled his feet, big grin. Then he was off to have a hit. I got a hug from him after he won his doubles match with Ilia (they laughed most of the way through the match, it was cute to see them having fun).

As for JanMike and Glenn, well JMG kind of gave it to him and all Glenn had to do was kind of sit there and let it happen. JMG had a hard time getting first serves in and getting his FH over the net, DF on 2 of the breakpoints against him. Other than that, he played well... I'll put more of that info on my messageboard. Glenn is going to have a much harder time with Amer, but Glenn has the ability to make that an interesting match and I look forward to watching them play each other.

Amer and Bobby lost their doubles match, in two tiebreak sets. I only saw part of the match, but Amer made me laugh a few times. He's so much taller than Bobby, whenever Bobby made a mistake Amer would pat him on the head or push him or something (always with a smile). It was so funny to watch him act like a bully with 'little Bobby' but they are good friends, so I guess it was okay. :D

I'll have more tomorrow.

KBF, I don't have boobs either, really. I just have big hair.

I finally remembered that Dudi had been in the car on one of the trips that I drove Noam during the Sacramento Callenger so that must be how he learned my name. I am sure that Dudi also realized during that same trip that I am a mostly harmless nut who says and does silly things just to make the guys laugh a little. He is a cute little bug though, I must admit. But I think I love Amer most this week, he's just lovely...

JayIt was a craaaaaaazy match. Whitehouse served for the match at 5-2 and 5-4 in the SECOND SET and Bobby took it 7-5. Then Whitehouse served for the match AGAIN at 5-4 in the THIRD set and choked. It was a pretty bad choke job but a great, fun match to watch with lots of great rallies and good serving - it was a little over 3 hours long!!!!!

Justin won 6-0 6-4, and Jan-Mike and Goran won the doubles against Whitehouse and whoever he was playing with.

Oh Delic beat Weiner, 6-3 6-3, Amer played aweseomely.

Well Whitehouse is ranked in the 800s and lacks experience in these kind of matches. Yes he was a former Wimbledon Junior champion and U.S. Open finalist but he has not tasted much success on the tour. If he did not win Wimbledon than Elsner who he beat in the finals would have won all of the grand slam junior titles. :(

I think Fee is gonna text me scores today so I'll post as soon as I hear from her. I took lots of pics yesterday but no time to edit them right now, I'll post them here when I have time :) Amer/Bobby will be a tough match, they're clearly very close friends. but Amer should have the physical advantage if nothing else, he has looked so solid in his matches.

LOL I meant that b/c he won 6-3 6-3 and Bobby's match was over 3 hours that he would have an advantage in that respect :p

It's not that I don't want to go, I just should stay home and do work, I'm very behind on things :( But I'll see what time it's at and how much work I can get done before then and whatnot. I do think it could be a good match, both guys seem to be playing quite well this week :)

I just got home, Justin won 7-6(5) 6-2. The first set was really tough and so close and neither player had a sniff on serve. But I think it took something out of Amer to lose the set, and his serving dropped and stuff and Justin was just really solid. They were both gracious and said a few words to the crowd and they're both off to Boston I guess :) I still have all the pics of Tuesday and I took a bunch more today so I will work on those whenever I get a chance.

Yes, this win should put Justin at 94 in the world, so he should have direct entry into the Aussie Open.

Amer :sad:Aw, he seemed ok with it afterwards... I think he knew he did the best he could and was just outplayed, so he had nothing to really be upset about. He came a long long way since his first match (which he almost lost!). So hopefully he can ride it into the indoor tourneys, where he has some points to defend. And if he couldn't win, at least a Jew did? :p j/k

Silawen, I have a few really great ones from today :D It was my goal to get one of him hitting his beautiful backhand and I ended up getting a lot of nice action shots :) I also got a picture with him, but I'll keep that one to myself... b/c I look bad :p

Yeah, I suddenly realized on Sunday that I had been to five tournaments this year (2 ATP events and 3 Challengers). That's the luck of living in California, we have a lot of tennis here. But, there aren't any more events and I'm tired, so no, I'm done until San Jose in February. I love tennis. :D
