So finally Novak is playing again, and we can have a cheering thread for Metz! His qualifying draw does not look too rough and I will edit it into this post in one moment!

Here it is:

(2) DJOKOVIC, Novak v MOSER, Frank
SCHUKIN, Yuri v LAMMER, Michael
(WC) BOUHAMRI, Olivier v (WC) KARCHER, Herve
PEYA, Alexander v (6) PARMAR, Arvind

Actually it was quite long. Nole hasn't played since the US Open.

That's true.... there have been other people who haven't played tournaments though, but they had Davis Cup to play in the middle.

I hope he can have a good run this last month.

Nole won in the second round 6:4, 4:6, ret. Not brilliant, but he won. Nole has to win against Peya if he want to be in the MD.

Good luck Nole!

novak and his stupid tournament schedules
not looing too good as to stay in the top 100 before the year end
it would have been better for him to have entered Mons challenger
good field, easy points, might not have got injured

I always go on the Serbian version of his site. There they said in the news, that he's injured, that he has a thigh injury, that handicaps him since the beginning of the year  . But they didn't define it more accurate. Hope that helps a bit though

Oh that does help! Thanks!!

I am attempting to learn Serbian to help me when I'm searching for news for him, but so far all I know how to say is "apples" so, not too useful.

Hmmmm, to learn Serbian is one of the most complicated things I know...Though my mother is Serbian, I didn't grow up bilingual, but only with German and "learnt" Serbian, when I was in holidays there or somebody of my relatives visited us. The result is, that I still now attempt to talk correct, but fail the most times, because the Grammar is a horrible thing  . Sometimes, when I'm too tired to think, I just talk the way I think and don't care at all, if it's grammatical correct or not. When I'm corrected then to say it in the right way, my only answer is: "Oh, leave me alone with that!"

Yeah, since I'm learning over the Internet, I know I won't be able to speak it properly ever. I just want to know some basics so that I can keep up with the news, since Serbian sources are really the only ones that talk about him.

Hi - I've been meaning to come over here for a while now and savestheday91 very knidly invited me earlier today - so I just thought I'd pop into say :wavey: I first saw Novak play at Wimbledon this year and was very impressed :) I must admit I had never heard of him before this time, but my friend knew him from the Liverpool Exhibition tournament he played in just before Wimby and wanted to go and see him play again. I thought he did great in the US Open (we saw several of his matches on TV) - and I wish him all the best for the future.

My time on the Net is limited because of boring things like work  - but I promise I'll come by from time to time - oh - and congrats for getting Novak a Forum of his own!

Yes - UK has really good tennis coverage - we have "interractive" which means you get a choice of 4 or 5 courts every day during the US Open and choose which match you want to watch :) Sky TV is syndicated to Italy and France - so we got the Monfils match for the French audiences which was great :)

I really wish we had the interactive feature here too. Whenever people complain about US TV coverage I always use that of an example of what they should do over here to fix it.
