Poor Swedes :( This is really the toughest draw they could get...
Thomas Johansson, Jonas Björkman, Simon Aspelin, Robert Lindstedt, Andreas Vinciguerra samt Ervin Eleskovic
Sad but not surprised, he chose the players of the moment

Yes, it's going to be hard, especially with Nalby who is in a great shape, and Gaston who is a dangerous player on clay. I wonder who will play the singles with Thomas Johansson. I have nothing against Jonas, maybe Andreas Vinciguerra ? Well, Sweden will be a great outsider !! Will see, we never know, a DC tie is so different than a normal match. I'll cross my fingers for our vikings !!

Sweden V Argentina.
Random piece from Tennis-x which made me smile.
Site: Parque Julio A. Roca, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Surface: Red clay outdoors
Ball: Pro Penn Extra Duty (Black Seal)
Did Gaston Gaudio injure himself last week in Vina del Mar?
If so, increase Sweden's slim chance against the French Open champion and David Nalbandian-led team on the red dirt. Agustin Calleri or Juan Ignacio Chela could step up in Gaudio's potential absence, or team in doubles against Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman and Simon Aspelin.
Thomas Johansson and Robin Soderling will likely head the singles effort for the underdog Swedes, who injuries to the Argentines or not, will be the heavy underdogs on the dirt.

What who are the Swedes going to pick then, if that line up makes you sad.
This is the team now Söderling, Björkman, T Johansson and Aspelin and Gaudio is out of the Argentine team.

Why didn't Robin play in day 3?
As they lost after the doubles, maybe Mats gave a chance to another player to play, and that was Jonas. Well, a year to forget for the Swedes. Hope they'll be more lucky in the play off draw !

but it seems to me that Robin plays only one matche in a tie. Last time he played one match in Swe/Aus tie as well.

Maybe, Robin was not in a good shape. But, I think Mats wanted all the players participate and as they lost after the doubles, he decided to let Jonas play.

No, don't think it will be possible. These teams with Germany will be seeded

Sverige seedat i Davis Cup-kvalet
lets hope they will get a home tie. :bounce:
pls not Brasil away!!!

hemmaplan = home

Chinese Article entitled "Kuerten uncertain to play" or similar.
I opened the email, as I found the title amusing. Kuerten... playing... it sounds odd these days
RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's Tennis Federation(CBF) said on Sunday that it had called up former world number one Gustavo Kuerten for the country's Davis Cup games, but that did not mean he would definitely to play.
The CBT's Sunday statement contradicted a Thursday statement by team captain, Fernando Meligeni, naming his team of Kuerten, Flavio Saretta, Marcos Daniel, Ricardo Mello, Andre Sa and Thiago Alves as a reserve.
Last Tuesday, Kuerten, a three-time Roland Garros winner, described his condition as 70 percent, but said he was willing to help the national team in any way.
The CBT said that Meligeni will assess Kuerten during training and has until Sept. 21, the day lots are drawn for the next day's matches, to decide.
Brazil is due to play Sweden for a place in 2007's World Group of the Davis Cup, on Sept. 22 to 24, in Belo Horizonte. Kuerten last played against Peru, partnering Andre Sa in the doubles.
The Swedish team is made up of Robin Soderling, Andreas Vinciguerra, Jonas Bjorkman and Simon Aspelin, with Mats Wilander as captain.
