I didn't even realize that the time for this tournament had come until late last night. I'm barely keeping up with following pro Tennis right now. Has to be the first time in two years that I haven't gone to a local tournament in October. Let alone there will be two in a row and I won't go to either one. Doesn't really bother me either  .

It looks like it could be a nice draw with the list as is but I just have no reason to go all the way out there. Not even to see Janko Tipsarevic's handsome face. It's not like I know the kid.

Well, back to hibernation I guess. :wavey:

Will be interesting to see how Mark Philippoussis does. Have to say I'm amazed to see him in a Challenger draw after the stream of wildcards that seemed to be coming his way. I thought he must have something against Challengers.

No Scoville Jenkins this week?

Bobby Reynolds still needs a few more points to make it into the top 100. Might take 2 or 3 decent tournaments.

Yes. He's hot, and with a name that looks like whore, what's not to like?

Did you see him at Legg Mason? If not, I'm impressed that you've decided that because there are not a lot of pictures of him around and he is a heck of a lot more attractive in person than any of the photos I've seen. Hopefully I got a few that show how truly beautiful he is.

Sadly, he lost his first round qualie match, after holding 3 match points. He DF'ed on 2 of them, poor thing has no 2nd serve which must be rough considering he wants to be a serve and volley player.

I don't remember if I posted the OOP link http://www.atptennis.com/posting/2005/656/op.pdf

Good luck Harsh, Durek/Yani, JMG, Querrey, and Delic/Reynolds. :D

Glenn's playing Mr 45 minute practice in the first round, I'd say his odds are at least 50-50. Could be interesting. Sa got beat by DeVoest last week (of course, Rik beat everyone and won the title). This is a very interesting draw and should be just as competitive as Sacto was. maybe even more so.

Thanks Super-Fabio for the cutting and pasting. I was too tired (and a bit lazy, I admit).

How does Glenn play against S&V players?

One of the players told me that no one ever saw Flip at the club, but someone saw him at the Mall on Monday. On his messageboard someone posted that he pulled out after the rain delays because of his plans to play St Petersburg with a wildcard. That makes me wonder... when you sign up for a tournament, don't you kind of plan to win it and play in the final on Sunday, especially when you are someone like him?

I just saw on Brian Vahaly's site that he defeated Gimelstob when Gimelstob retired at 0-3 down in the 3rd set. The reason made me laugh. Now, I know that Gimelstob is prone to cramps but to cramp in this weather?!?! :p

Unless the weather is drastically different 45 minutes away from my house...it couldn't of been heat that made the man cramp  .

That said...good for Brian.

And I saw Janko's score this morning. I've been seeing his scores and it's  but I thought he would win a first round this week. He was playing Widom for crying out loud!!!

Justin retired because of a back injury, not cramps. And cramps can happen in any weather for a variety of reasons. (and the phrase is 'couldn't have').

Um...I am not writing a paper for my Econ class at this moment so I'm not interested in proper grammar. The fact that you must be so bored that you felt like you had to point it out  . And to be exact, "couldn't have" is informal anyway and if you were to communicate formally...the proper way is to cease using contractions and spell out all words. I'll remember in the future to write in proper grammar in the threads where you will be so as not to irritate you. Can't believe you actually had the gall to criticize how I write in a message forum for Tennis. I guess if it makes you feel important.

Oh...and I hate to burst your bubble but yes, I am aware that cramping can happen for various reasons. I am not new to sports...I didn't just arrive today. If you were reading my message and taking it in you would have seen that I acknowledged him being prone to the cramps. Doesn't matter...I don't know the guy personally so I don't really care. Just thought it was funny.

Glad that Brian won. And his website person gets it straight from him so if he heard that it was cramps...maybe it was cramps AND a bad back.

But...you're the all-knowing so

I'm actually pretty pleased that JMG went to 3 sets with Flavio, and I think it means he may really be on his way back to 'something.' I was told that Flavio was playing pretty well last week until his back flared up on Saturday (I never saw any matches until the final day), so I think this could be called a 'good loss' if there is such a thing. Flavio and his coach Joao were perfect gentlemen to me last week and I'm sorry they won't be in Carson next week. Love your avatar Lee.
