Following form on the europeantour circuit over the year, I have some tips for the first round 2 balls.

The matchups are as follows

Retief Goosen V Kenneth Ferrie
Colin Montgomery V Mark Hensby
Tim Clark V Steve Elkington
Michael Campbell V Geoff Ogilvy
Luke Donald V Bernhard Langer
Thomas Bjorn V Paul McGinley
David Howell V Jose Maria Olazabel
Angel Cabrera V Trevor Immelman

I like Michael Campbell @ $1.55 to beat Geoff Ogilvy in the first round.
I also like Luke Donald @ $1.52 to beat Bernhard Langer in the first round.
I also like Retief Goosen @ $1.20 to beat Kenneth Ferrie in the first round.

However, I am only going the one play. That is Michael Campbell to defeat Geoff Ogilvy. And on top of that, I firmly believe that Michael can win the whole thing.

Speaking of which, the winner.

Retief Goosen is favourite at $4
Luke Donald is at $10
Michael Campbell is at $11

I'm very tempted to have a dig at Donald who is in awesome form and put some on Campbell. Donald's odds considering the form he's been in are too good to miss.

My suggested bet though is Michael Campbell today to defeat Geoff Ogilvy and that's who I'm on.

Bad Luck - you follow Golf much?

Goosen is still 3 up after 11 holes.

Donald is murdering his opponent too. 4 up after 8. - Good sign of form for us who backed him to win the tournament.

Campbell finally levelled with Ogilvy after 9. They're both equal.

Campbell is in a parlay consisting of Verdasco and Youzhny.

Current Scores

Campbell V Ogilvy - Even (9)
Donald V Langer - Donald 4 up (8)
Goosen V Ferrie - Goosen 4 up (12)
Clarke V Elkington - Even (10)
Montgomery V Hensby - 3 up (12)
Bjorn V McGinley - Even (6)
Howell V Olazabel - Olazabel 2 up (6)
Cabrera V Immelman - Even (5)

Nando is the biggest choker in mens tennis.

Up a break in the first set, lost the set.

Up a break in the second set, lost the set.

Lost to Mayer on clay. What a d!ck.

Should have learnt after the US Open not to back him!

Won the Campbell leg. Should have stayed with golf and parlayed the big 3.

www.europeantour.com - however, that didn't show the scores early yesterday.

or the official website as listed above.

Matchups for today

Retief Goosen $1.40 V Mark Hensby $2.90
Michael Campbell $1.60 V Steve Elkington $2.30
Luke Donald $1.50 V Paul McGinley $2.55
Jose Maria Olazabel $2.20 V Angel Cabrera $1.65

Atm I'd parlay Donald, Campbell and Goosen or just a combination of 2 of them. I'm not touching the other one. Ideally, Goosen, Campbell and Donald should have wins over their opponents today.

Yeah cheers Sports Freak. I'm still not convinced with those 2 players hence why I'm avoiding it. But I agree, Jose has been in alright form of late. Tonight might be a good chance to get some decent money before tomorrow's plays.

I see Donald's odds for the outright have moved into $6.

Donald X Goosen @ $2.10

Early into the days play.

Goosen is killing Hensby - 4 up after 6 holes. Pencil that in for a win. He can't lose from there.

Donald is struggling, but managed his first birdie on the par 5 4th. He got a bogey on the second and is 2 down on McGinley so that should boost his confidence up and he should come good within the next few holes.

Campbell is going well, 2 up after 5 over the Elk.

Olazabel and Cabrera have only played the 1 hole and are equal.

The 4 players I mentioned earlier will win today. I expect Donald to take the lead by the end of the 9th.

Donald is really struggling. He's 4 behind after 8. He needs a good late morning afternoon now. Should get it.

Goosen is 7 up. Cabrera 1 up and Campbell and his opponent are equal.

Donald is still 4 behind after 11. Managed 2 birdies and 2 bogies today whilst McGinley has managed 4 birdies in succession and hasn't dropped a shot.

The weather is poor over there and Donald is suffering from it.

Hensby ensured that a record would not be made for Goosen, stopping Goosen from getting 10 up after 18. Goosen is 9 up coming into the break.

Elkington is four up over Michael Campbell coming into the break.

McGinley is 6 up over Donald coming into the break after birdying the last.

Cabrera is 2 up over Olazabel after 16.

Only hope now is by the time Donald and McGinley start their afternoon game, the weather is fine in which case, the Pom should destroy him. If the weather becomes fine, expect Campbell and Donald and Olazabel to pick up their games and fly home. I cannot see McGinley holding on and cannot see Donald not progressing considering the form Donald is in - same with Michael Campbell. The key is the weather. But, it's going to be very tough now. Can't see it happening. The leaders going into the break will win. It's a lot to make up for both Campbell and Donald. Yet again, anything can happen and the form Donald and Campbell are both in, if they're good enough, they'll get up.

Goosen will be a very short priced favourite if both of these players don't progress.

Campbell is 5 up over Goosen after 16.

McGinley is 2 up over Cabrera.

Campbell's odds of $11 at the start of the tournament for the win is looking good.

Final play of the Tournament

Michael Campbell to defeat Paul McGinley @ $1.72

Michael Campbell is at $11

I'm very tempted to have a dig at Donald who is in awesome form and put some on Campbell. .

Lets cheer the Kiwi home over the Irishman, McGinley.

No probs. Win big I take it? When you see the 2005 US Open Champion with $11 in a small field needing to beat 1 opponent each of the 4 rounds if he makes it that far, it can't be ignored! :D
