I don't think he can beat Roger.

R.Federer

leyton has to figure out some way to do something different although not clear what that can be. he has said during Wimbledon that he found secret small weakness of Roge he will attack. seems that was to volley more but did not work too much.

I hope Roge win but it is competitive at least. I see the HTH improving to 11-7 for Roge today

I agree. Hewitt will win this match. Federer is not at his best and Hewitt will pounce.

If Roger plays well... Lleyton will lose, no matter how good he plays.

Even if Roger has an average day, I still see him winning in straight sets.

Lleyton's style is just a bad matchup for him against Roger. Hewitt has trouble generating offense of his own, and likes to counterpunch off of his opponants offense. Unfortunately, he's doing it against probably the most talented person ever to pick up a racket. Roger might not hit as many winners against Lleyton, but I can tell you the error numbers for Lleyton are gonna be huge.

I think the results will be closer this time around than in last years final . however at best I give Hewitt only 1 set and he'll probably have to do it on tiebreak

Guys, I play tennis, and I have a friend who also plays tennis. Back when we were around 12 years old, I always used to beat him... I was always an excellent mover and beat him on that. Then, three years later, his groundstrokes got SHARP and I could still run them down, but it was just too much... It was too much to take to be running down a ball every point just to have some hope of winning the point. He must have beaten me about 25 matches in a row, and I got no closer than 6-3. Now, in college, my serve has improved and I've played him a few times, holding more easily, and using my serve and follow-up shots to move him around a little more and not allow him to control the point all the time. And BAM, I've beaten him the last two times I've played, 7-6, 6-4, and 6-3, 6-4. True story.

Lleyton, on gaurd.

People, Hewitt doesn't believe that he can beat Fed (and he has enough reasons not to)...You can see it on his face when he says "yeah'll have to hang in there and make it tough for him". How can you beat someone if you dont believe? he doesnt believe cause he realises he doesnt have the weapons and the game.....besides, for Hewitt to have a chance, Fed will have to forget he's playing with him. Cause he hasnt had an off day against Hewitt in the matches I've watched.

Well Hewitt had a good chance today - and he did make me nervous but thankd good Roger showed once again why he's the best player right now. Even though he still wasn't at his very best.

R.Federer

Lets please give a round of applause to hewit also --there were stupid thread like "how many bagels" in fact Roge has lost a set (a 17-set winning streak against leyton is broken) and leyton played very well.
No need to brag about this, Roge played good but leyton was NOT playing bad.
It could have become close if Roge didnt get the break in the last set

I'm sorry but I think they both sucked today. Hewitt's 1st serve % was below 50%, and had almost as many UE's as winners. I don't think it was Hewitt's good play that forced Roger to play poorly. In fact I think I think they both caused each other to look like crappy because they were both playing that way.

With no disrespect intended to Hewitt, I do believe there were times in the match where he played better, especially during the 2nd and 3rd sets, but to be totally honest, in the last two sets I just got the impression that Roger was bored out of his wits. He seemed uninterested and unmotivated and I was just stunned that he had become so lackadaisical.

To ROger's credit tho, I think he is playing the very same way he played in Cincy. I hope that bodes well for his form in the Final. He'll need to be sharp to beat the old man.

Bragging about your ability to predict that Hewitt will lose to Federer is like bragging about your ability to predict that the sun will rise tomorrow.

The only thing you are telling us, loud and clear, is that you are a tool.
