Rooting for Andre but he has to dispose Ginepri in 3 or Ginepri will get to the finals.

andre, he can only be stopped by federer in the final....
he is doing what sampras did 3 years ago, if he wins the us open he retires.

the question is: how much does agassi have left?

the top half is more relaxed and has more energy

If Andre and Fed meet in the final, it will not be pretty for Andre.

I voted Andre in four. I can't see Robby winning, but I could also never had predicted Robby in a GS final. The statement, "Robby Ginepri is in the USO semifinal," is just wrong. I mean, all credit to him, he has obviously been playing incedibly, but still. :p

andre wins
but then fed ex beats him in the final.
no off day between semis/final
gives agassi no chance vs federer

To beat Agassi you have to overpower him (as Blake did for 2 sets) and Ginepri can't. There will be a lot of entertaining rallies and Agassi will win in 3 or 4 sets.

Agassi has to win, the thought of Ginepri in a Slam final is almost blasphemous.

Who do I want to see whipped more by Federer in the final?....that's gotta be Ginepri.
But I dont see Agassi reaching any more finals than this one, so go Agassi, and fight ur best fight against Federer this weekend.

That's exactly what I think, given Federer makes to the final. But thinking Ginepri in USO final...:tape: So both are :retard:

Andre in 4....maybe....but I just dont know what to think with Ginepri anymore, really don't know what he's capable of

If he is to get through, I hope its off of a 4th 5 set win....awesome

I want Andre to win, but to say Robby in the final is almost blasphemous.... Robby's been playing great these past few weeks!

Care to explain yourself?

Rooting for Ginepri, but Agassi will probably win. I agree Adre has to win quick to be able to win the final, especially if he plays Roger. Poor Blake, I really wanted him to win last night.

No, you don't have to overpower him. Placement is enough as Federer has shown us.

I hope Andre takes out Ginepri in four - he will need to conserve energy for the final.
GO ANDRE GO!

Think Andre will do the business. Poor Robby was on the point of phsysical collapse last night whereas Andre was bouncing about the place after his epic. As long as his back behaves itself I see Dre going all the way to the final.

Robby's level was down vs. Weasel but he managed, thanks to Guille's match-ending DFs. He will be exhausted but at least he finished his QF match first. I will be surprised if he wins but if he does, which I doubt, I will be happy for him.

Clearly past results don't matter here. Ginepri is playing better tennis than Blake was. Robby is too fast for Andre and Mr.Agassi can't take another grinder match. I say Robby in 4, Agassi takes the first set and then after that he falls apart.

I suppose you think he can beat Federer in the final too?

Gosh, sorry for suggesting that Andre isn't playing his best tennis. I am an Andre fan when I say this, Andre isn't playing well...he looks tired and flat.

I know but playing in the US final in front of a hyped up crowd in New York. I think if Agassi plays Rogi. And manages to get the first set then we could have a cracker. I say this knowing very well that Fedex is THE MAN. But the romantic in me wants to see the legend bow out with a fairytale ending. And looking at how Fedex played the other night this might not totally be beyond the realms of possibility,

he wakes up at key moments for sure. Like Federer. He's done beautiful things, lobs, returns (all matches), aces (last set against Malisse), it's a fireworks of great shots and you're saying "Andre isn't playing well" :drink:

It's not often Federer lets himself get walked on and falls 2 sets behind :o

It's also the case that Blake started to play poorly being in the 3rd in the 4th.

If you want to tell yourself that Andre won that match because he's soo good and he's playing so well, thats ok. I will just remind you that he just went 5 sets with James Blake and then you will say ok...yea, he's probably not playing that well because James is a 2nd tier guy at best. Lets not dilude ourselves into thinking that was Hewitt, Roddick, or Nadal he just beat there...it was just James Blake. A guy I feel that if Agassi is playing well enough can handle in 3 on HC :)

I meant like a top 10 guy.

Yea, it's sorta funny that Nadal and Andy lost. Especially after Nadal/Andy played soo well just weeks b4.

As someone stated before: " I will just remind you that he just went 5 sets with James Blake and then you will say ok...yea, he's probably not playing that well because James is a 2nd tier guy at best"

Check this out:

http://www.atptennis.com/en/players/headtohead/head2head.asp?player1=agassi&player2=ginepri

If agassi plays 75%, he will win in 4. Anything above 85% and it's straights for AA.

He should win in straights to conserve the tank for a full fledged assault on Fedex. If nothing else, to atleast give us a 5 setter against Roger.

As for Blake, he was playing better than ANY PLAYER had played so far in this US open, including Kingfed. Plus he handed nadal's ass to him and was playing wayyy better than andre for almost all 5 sets. In the end, experience of being in that position and on such a big stage was what won out for andre. Now all he needs to do is what he did in set 5 for 3 sets against fed and Fed will have to swallow his first finals defeat in 2 years. anything else and its ho-hum 24th final in a row for the maestro.

If it will go to 5 sets, then I think Ginepri would win because he will recover faster from all his past matches.
Ginepri is not playing with any fear and is not fazed by taking out seeds. Andre would bring everything here because maybe his last chance to win the U.S Open
