Post Match between Hewitt and Hrbaty

It seems that Hewitt and Hrbaty continues to trade shots after the match.

Hewitt no match for Federer, says Dominik Hrbaty who raised eyebrows with his unconventional fashion sense at the US Open.

After copping a tennis lesson from Lleyton Hewitt and then discovering his conqueror had sledged him at the post-match press conference, Dominik Hrbaty decided to hit back.

Despite crashing 6-1 6-4 6-2 to the 2001 champion, Hrbaty predicted Hewitt would be fodder for Roger Federer - should they meet in the semi-finals - if he continues playing the way he has been.

Hrbaty claimed Hewitt didn't beat him, rather his 49 unforced errors had gifted the South Australian victory, and that he shouldn't expect the same generosity from Federer, who has won his last 15 sets and eight matches against Hewitt.

"If he doesn't come up with something really different, it's going to be nine," Hrbaty said.

"I mean, he can't even hurt me, like really making me run all over the court. That's why he can't beat him."

The Slovakian, seeded 15th at Flushing Meadows, didn't believe Hewitt could match Federer's firepower, but the third seed had way too many weapons for Hrbaty in a one-sided fourth-round contest that lasted a mere 94 minutes.

"I just couldn't lose to a bloke wearing a shirt like that," Hewitt said after his opponent again sported a pink and black top with two holes cut out of the back.

"I wouldn't wear it, but it made it a lot easier for me to beat him today."

Hrbaty is no mug. He upset Federer in Cincinnati last year in what was his second win from as many meetings with the Swiss, and his 27-13 record on hard courts is the fourth best in 2005 behind only the world No.1, Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick.

"I'm very happy to get away with the win that I got and be in the locker room after a comfortable win as well, and not waste a lot of energy," Hewitt said.

"Physically, I felt great out there. He didn't put me under that much pressure."

Hewitt's success vaulted the 24-year-old into a sixth straight quarter-final in New York.
"It's a great record to have here," he said.

"It's not an easy grand slam, not an easy tournament to do well at, and to go out successfully every year, it's a huge positive
