He was bending over a bit like he wanted to vomit...

I've never seen Ginepri play before, and the two secs they showed on CBS didn't give me any impressions...

Gasquet did as well as he could in the four sets before, but in the fifth set he was just not able anymore to put up any more resistence. But the fourth round isn't too bad at all for his first try, he will come back stronger and healthy next year I hope!

Congrats Ginepri for your result there, great achievement! :yeah:

Richard

What a pity. At least he put up a fight. Asking for a 3rd consecutive five-set win would have been too much. If he had been able to serve normally, he no doubt could have pulled this out.

Two bad for Gasquet up 2 sets and a break...
At the end he was very tired as the road to this 4th round was very long, too long for Gasquet, he failed to save energy in the -on the paper- easier matches against Galimberti and Montanes and he was clearly hampered by his ellbow problems which resulted in his weak serve.

If you have only limited time then watch the 2nd and 3rd set only. My view: the fifth set was a blowout, in the first set Gasquet struggled to find any rhythm and the fourth set was only good for the first few games and after that was too one-sided from Gasquet's point of view and it was the start of Ginepri's cruise to victory.

WD Ginepri for hanging there in the fourth set! :yeah: But it's so frustrating that Richard had no more gas and this elbow problem...So sad. He could have fought better and it would have been closer in the end...
I'm happy he didn't retire after the the fourth set though! He stayed and got bagelled but he stayed! ;)
What a run considering the conditions! Rest and cure this elbow Richard and then come back strong! :)

In this case he is right. I'm also predicting that Coria will wear down Ginepri in cruel fashion, I see almost no chance for Ginepri to win this match. Coria's style is so different, unlike Gasquet or Haas he will frustrate the hell out of Ginepri by retrieving more and more shots and most of all he has of all sort of variations. Only chance for Ginepri is to overpower Coria, but he would need to play an almost perfect match then.

Poor Gasquet :hug: His physical condition just went into pieces in the 5th set. Oh....But he should've finished in 4 when leading 3:1 and serving. His game is already there, just he should pick his physical thing up a gear to have a solid position against the stronger players like Ginepri esp when he is taken into a 5th one. And the 3rd set TB already showed a bit of his mental strength by his playing awesome tennis. He is still young, so still much potential for him.

GAsguet needs to work on that fitness and he will achieve great things. The talent is unquestionably there.

As for Ginepri, well done! Not bad for a "no talent bum"? :)

Exactly. He will need to serve at 65% at least to beat Coria unless Coria has a really bad day. In any case, a great chance for guys like Jarkko, Verdasco, Hrbaty, Ginepri, and Blake to get to the SF's of a slam. Do they have one/two more great matches in them?

well i don t think he served around 105 mph in the last set because he was tired!!
his elbow problem was probably getting worse and worse and i think that ,along with ginepri performance,it was the ultimate reason of his loss today

Another question will be how Coria is recovering from his match against Massu and he is the one who had to spend more time on the court so far.

Coria: 674 minutes
Ginepri: 567 minutes

i 'm probably putting some early pressure on him(he is still so young) but i think the next year will already be a crucial year for richie 's career
i think he 'll need to make at least one GS 1/2 final or win a MS from the next year if he wants to be a real challenger to federer in the future
don t know why but i think the next year will say to us if richie will have a good career or a great career.

I think its too early to early for Richie, he is following almost the same path as Fed. BH players always bloom late, 2nd he needs a big title to really get his confidence going. I wont be surprised if he really blows the scene when he is 21 just like Fed.

Scotso

He'll probably be in the top 10 by the end of the year, having only played half of it basically. So I would think that he's already been quite successful.

Sometimes though, players have a breakthrough year....and then the next 2 years may go through a slump only then to rebound in a big way later on. I wish the best for Richie though, he's got so much talent and heart.

Gasquet showed a big talent out there, it was his fitness again , which couldn't go on for the rest of the match, and it appeared from the beginning of the fourth set ,he was struggling to move rapidly ..on the contrary, Ginepri was the tougher guy..

true, Ginepri won't be an easy going one for Coria by any means, on the contrary, i can see he's got better chances ..he's more fit, powerful,Coria was suffering with his serve in the previous match, and that's big deal with someone like Ginepri..adding that Coria is very good at giving up and collapsing when everybody else thinks he's got a chance :awww:

He's nineteen. Recall that Roger wasn't very consistent or particularly fitt at that nineteen-twenty age, either; you can't expect Gasquet to be as fit, mentally and physically, and develop as quickly as Nadal, of course. But hey, he won a couple five-setters here and showed fight. Ginepri played well, too. I don't think Richard'll be wasting his talent anytime soon - he can only go up from now.

Good job to Ginepri, though I was very disappointed at the result of the fifth set. :)
