Cope the idiot ... can play unreal v Higgy then crap he next day (even if he still won)

usual luck for Higgins, everybody plays out of their mind against him

Williams back to form again, hopefully Maguire takes him out but id feel like backing the Welshman

Ding over Murphy and Fu over Selby also look good.

I have a free outright bet to make this month, I obviously know nothing about snooker but as a good outside/value bet who would you recommend? Ding at 6's?

JUNHUI, Ding (Chn) 6.00
MURPHY, Shaun (Eng) 8.00
COPE, Jamie (Eng) 11.00

Cope and hawkins have history, i believe a few months ago Hawkins choked against jamie in a ranking event, not sure which one, this one could be close and i am tempted on Barry, he must be buzzing after that comeback.

I reckon

Fu looks solid at 8/11 to beat Perry- Perry was lucky to beat Robertson, Fu usually very good in long matches, beat the ever impressive day 9-6 and recently won a ranking tile beating ronnie in the final, in form.

Selby also looks good at 4/7 to beat Harold- I rarely see Harold back up shock wins, he beat ebdon last year and then lost 9-2 to Nigel Bond in the next match, big of a fruitcake this harold i reckon.

Williams trailes 5-3 to allen, currently 2-1 to win. Williams has been awful for 2 years now but recently hooked up with his coach terry griffths this relation gave o him many titles a few years back. Dont forget that williams use to be a beast on the snooker scene, won to world titles, masters, uk , china open and many more. Has an absoulutely brilliant record in the uk event and at 2-1 is big to win.

Williams beat allen 2-1 (trails 5-3)

BG, this is tough and i recomened you put all your money on tiger woods to win the target challenge open, has won it 4 times and has been runner up 3 times since it started in 2000.

But if you wanna gamble it on the snooker i can recommened you two excellent choices at this QF stage, i am currently in the uk and been watching the snooker on the bbc and i can safely say murphy looks very good, he is value.

Mark Williams former 2 time world champion and also has a brilliant record in this tournie, comming into form is too big 15s.

I would plump for williams.

But i reckon ronnie is DESERVED red hot fave.

Of course, everbody is impressed with what Ronnie did yesteday, and of course, as always and against anybody, he is fairly considered as a fav - because there is no player who can beat him when he's on...

But value stands with Maguire...

Maguire over Ronnie, #3.oo

IvŠn
12-16-2007, 11:48 AM
Shooting a 147 in a semi-final ranking event decider will never be matched i reckon, pure class.

We are so fortunate to be watching ronnie live in his prime

BUT....

Ronnie has not won a ranking event for two years, even though he is a huge deserved fave today he did not play that well yesterday and if Maguire can carry on winning frames in one visit he can bag the title.

Maguire +2.5 5/6

Big play

Julio

I'm going for a shock win tomorrow:

Drago over Murphy @ 7.50

also small

Robertson over Lee @ 2.30

Sometimes Drago plays a bit better at home. Hopefully Murphy isn't too interested in it, as it is clearly the shittiest tournament of the season and doesn't give ranking points. There's also no day of rest between the Malta Cup and the Welsh Open, so it wouldn't hurt him to lose early.

They play only 6 frames per match, so I need a 4-2 at least.

eurosport.de will have a livestream for the tv table all days.

I wonder why Murphy isn't qualified for the PL already? Which 6 players are in?

So true JMG, he is an utter ****, JMG can you explain to me this format of this championship league, murphy won all his matches yesterday but lose the semi to hamilton, why is he playing again today?

JMG
03-12-2008, 04:29 PM
The final winners of groups 1-7 qualify for group 8. The 6th and 7th of group 1-6 get relegated, while the 5th and the 3 semifinal/final losers move to the next group.

So from yesterday Hamilton qualified for group 8, Carter/Selby/Murphy/Bingham moved to the next group and Swail/Holt are out. In each of the groups 3 new players are added.

Group 8 = Winners of group 1-7, and the winner of group 8 qualifies for the Premier League.

Carter has played all 4 groups so far, as he always finished 2nd-5th.

Looks like there was made an exception for Joe Perry, as he was semifinalist in group 2, but had played Parrott on Monday, so that he couldn't play group 3. I see they moved him to group 4 directly.

He must have some personal problems to play like that or simply can't confirm his WSC 2006 title. But the year after he won WC06 he played unbelievable, he played the best all season long (Winning this title) until that match v McCulloch at WC 07 when he looked tired and under pressure to defend it

World Snooker is reviewing a video in which Ronnie O'Sullivan made suggestive comments at a news conference following defeat by Marco Fu at the China Open.
O'Sullivan can be heard on a Chinese video-sharing website making lewd comments and sexual innuendos in front of the assembled media in Beijing.

The 32-year-old Englishman, a former world champion, also brandished a hand-held microphone suggestively.

World Snooker says it has seen the video and it is now under review.

Bit of a late posting, but I have a double on Magurie x Murphy...I think it will be tough for Shaun to take out the jester though, he will have to be playing at the top of his game from the very start all the way through. But still I think he can do it, some how. I think it will be the ful l11 frames here....

I don't know if Mark's talented; he plays a very negative game. He doesn't take a ball on unless he's going to leave it safe.

"It makes him tough to play because you know you're in for long frames and long bouts of safety.

In a 2004 Grand Prix match, Murphy was involved in having one of Maguire's frames forfeited. As the match was about to begin, Maguire realised he had forgotten to bring his chalk with him. He asked referee Johan Oomen for permission to leave the arena.

While he was away, Murphy spoke to the referee; the tournament director Mike Ganley summoned and he docked Maguire a frame for not being ready to start at the scheduled time. Maguire later won the match 5-2.

After beating Murphy in the 2007 Welsh Open, Maguire said of the incident, "That put the icing on the cake but we've always had a rivalry. I dislike him and I think he dislikes me. I try hard to beat everyone but it would have hurt more if I'd lost to him.".

Before their 2007 Northern Ireland Trophy semi-final clash, Murphy commented that the media had exaggerated the rift, commenting that "It might add spice for you (the media) but I said hello to Stephen in the practice room this morning. He's a fantastic player and I've got great respect for him. I'm willing to get on with him and if there's a problem it's not at my end"

Maguire's face when playing against Murphy is priceless. He really hates him.

Im looking for a big outsider, sometimes the world championship throws the form book out of the window.

Peter Ebdon is another one, awful year but loves the long frame matches, appeals at 33/1.

Ok here is my outright bet, Ronnie is due a world title, think he will be out to prove critics wrong, at his best no one can beat him, i will never forget that 147 in the deicider against selby at the Uk championships this year. Obvious dangers are selby who he hates playing but Has beaten, Murphy/Maguire who ronnie owns and John Higgins who is always dangerous.

World Championships 2008

Ronnie O Sullivan Outright @ 4/1

I have 3 E/W possible finalists.

Ken Doherty E/W 1-2 @ 33/1- You can never count crafty Ken out, loves playing at the crucible and has shown some form recently by reaching the final of the Malta Cup.

Marco Fu @ 35/1 E/W 1-2- If he can get past Ding then the draw can open up for him, likes playing against the best and has been in excellent form this year, winning a ranking title and reaching the latter stages of many tournaments, also likes the long frame matches and has reached the S/F in the past losing to Ebdon in the deciding frame in one of the longest matches ever recorded on TV.

Shaun Murphy @ 10/1 E/W 1-2- Shaun is my 2nd fave player in the snooker world apart from Ronnie, likes to attack and posesses a very good safety game, has two bogy players in maguire and ronnie but im sure eventually he can overcome them, he is too good. In the balls he is brilliant, produces high breaks at will and has a solid mentality, never gives in, won the world title as a debutant in style and i see no reason why he cant at least make the final.

Another great great bet is S.Maguire to win his Quarter @ 5/4

Yeah his results haven't been good this season, but if there is one place he could get it together, I reckon it would be here...longer matches give him extra time to get into stride, and he knows what it takes to go all the way as well.

congrats to Mark King......fully deserved victory....will be a tight match with Ebbo...

Who Will score higher break Dohrety - Wenbo Wenbo 2.25 bet 365

Young chinese gun is happy to be in Sheffield...He is young time works for him..never watched him(unfortunetly) but heard he is a very good breakbuilder....In victory against McCulloch he scored several high breaks including a century in final frame...he is still "raw" and ofcourse will be outplayed in safe battels and mind games with Dohrety if the Irish man can break his tempo and slow down a game..

Ken is in my eyes one of the smartest players around....his nickname "the comeback king" tell us that he is a fighter and his defensive game is his "forza"...in my eyes hes not the heavyest scorer and will be thinking how outplay young chinese in safe battels rather than trying to make high breaks with risky long shots...he also can make a big break when in form showed it in malta

Dont expect from wenbo to beat Dohrety in this stage and with big format which works better for Dohrety...just reasonig that Wenbo can put his game together in one frame and score a high break.....showed before that he knows how to do it

Ebdon - King over 22 2.20 bet 356

King played better than Ebbo in the first round more fluent breaks but this is gonna be a hard task for him...
He like to play close matches i think i remember 3-4 really close defets of his with top players...Ebdon is pretty lucky to be in second round unlike king butt i think he will bounce back and perform a good cueaction...
Pressure big for both of them and Ebbo likes it and do not expect him to crumble on the other side Kings boost of comfidence with such a big victory will make him even more dangereous...even matchup in my eyes...
I see Both of them taking their part of the match a and a long tactical battle with a possible decider...

I can see why your doing this malisha but it aint gonna happen, trust me on this. Wenbo is awesome, im very upset i didnt do my research on him before i put my doherty out-right bet, ive checked his recent results and he has beaten some very good players including maguire, i really believe he will be the story of the tournament, has swail in the next round which will be easy for him.

Im so glad now, got wenbo at 2/1 when it was 1-1 and im all green so far this week.

he makes frame winning breaks very consistently, rarely misses.

Watch him tonight and you will see what i mean, people in china are saying he has more potential than ding.

Wembo is scaring me today. I have too many unfinshed accumulators with him on. Swail is well up for this and Wembo today seemed to me to just be hitting and hoping on some shots. Seems to have lost focus in a big way.
