Yowza! Mr. Fashionista, you are post-2003 Ferrero's nemesis and no mistake!

Special K is dogged and consistent (to a point, anyway) and Ferrero can't break him down easily - I assume he can get short angles on his lefty forehand to Ferrero's weaker backhand side. They had two classic Slam battles last year, their Wimbledon match was probably the best of the tournament and hardly anyone saw it.

Wow, incredible score for Koubek so far  :)
But with Koubek you never know  ...especially recently, he still has to win a set to finish the match successfully, but I saw him slowly getting back to strength in Kitzbühel and I wish him he can keep it up and work his way back.

6-3 second set to JC and he's just broken to go up 2-0 :D

At least he didn't lose easily whatever happens. I was dreading something like 6-0, 6-2 but I'm watching it now and he's playing a lot better now.

Well done JC :yeah: Good fightback after that first set. He played really well in the second and third sets. Groundstrokes looking good, hitting winners and forcing errors.

He has nothing to lose against Andy. Just has to go for it. Vamos JC :D

Looking at the stats, he improved his serve in a lot of ways in the last two sets. 5 aces total (considered placement more?), more first serves in, and won more points off his first and second serves. :)

JCF gave the first set to Koubek because he knew that way it will be much easier for Koubek to choke

JC YOU IDIOT- a bagel is ridiculous, but it is against Koubek. Now just for him to beat Andy

I saw that Wimbly match and yes it was a very good one. Yesterday crazy Koubek played a fantastic first set, mixing his topspin cc fh with killer flattened ones down the line and his backhand worked perfect, giving great pace which JCF could hardly handle. He couldn´t keep that level long enough to finish him and Ferrero finally made his consitence prevail. A first set to remember for sure :yeah:

I love that JCF won, esp after that horrid bagel in the first set, and even better because all the know-it-all "experts" in the tourney thread had written JCF's obituary the day before.

Koubek's "choke" in the fifth was better something to forget :o
However, the US Open match was a great one also and Koubek won this time

Koubek/Ferrero is one of the best rivalries in tennis. :D

This would have been even better if Ferrero won 0-6, 6-3, 6-0. Tis okay, something to shoot for in their next match.

We didn't get to see much of their Wimbledon match last year besides a few points but their US Open battle was definitely classic. Every point was a marathon displaying their athleticism and determination.
