i think borg got his 70 titles before 26 but he retired after that, so who knows the future? roger may win 70 or may only win 50

Wrong Mimi, Borg only won 62 titles, so he couldn't have won 70 titles before the age of 26. :wavey: :wavey: and i dont think Roger can win 70 titles before he is 26 either, he will be 25 in August remember.  :p

nice of you to put all these small "road to the titles" in this forum topic, AWESOME.
NOW: a few comments ...
Who cares whether Agassi gets to 64 or not ? If he can GO ANDRE, he's a fantastic player. Btw, even if he does no need to compare it to PETE, Andre has been playing 3 years longer or something ... anyway.
As for Federer, I think honestly he will catch up with Pete's 64 titles, I really think he will. He already has 9 compared to Pete's 11 TMS titles.
However Grand Slams are totally different story, that's something only time will tell.
If feds win RGarros though, that would really be a feat. I'm curious whether he will...

Well no-one knows what the future will bring for Federer exactly, but like PETE said he will rule the tennis-scene for a few more years ...
Actually Feds has still 28 titles to go, before reaching 64, but Sampras had 33 titles when he had the age Feds has now.
Feds, great technique, efficient play (won't get tired easily) and good overall game, seems to have no holes.
Sounds like allot, but if Feds averages 5 titles a year, he'd only have to win 2 more titles in his after age 30 to equal Pete's amount. Anyway it's not that important, but it's interesting to see how it will develop.

Titles Sampras: 36
Titles Federer: 33
I think Pete has more than 33 title, at Roger age now, see above and this was before are after the Aussie Open 2006 - so he much have had more than 33 at this stage with Roger - check and see. :wavey: :worship: :D

Ok, guess I got then numbers mixed up. But still it's a fairly close call.
In terms of SLAMS they were both on 7 at age 24.
I think what will be intersting to see is, how Federer can keep up his winning tempo, Pete slumped a little around 1999/2000, if the same happens to Feds, he could easily come to around the same number, it's really interesting to see HISTORY, tennis history, develop.
After all these are arguably the 2 best players in the Tennis World ! :worship:

They are, and can you believe it, when Pete retired, everyone was worried as to who, was going to take his place - i guess now we know - Roger. :worship: :worship: :wavey:
Do you think any of Pete boys will play the sport?? :wavey:

I Think roger will keep up his dominance, theres just no one to challenge him thats all. Only injury will stop him but Pete played through the pain for many years.

I love Pete always but i do agree that Roger will break his records  , coz its obvious that he has no rivals, no one (except may be Nadal?) can beat him, so its easy to break pete's records coz he is always winning :wavey:

this is a great thread
conuting down all of pete's titles
I dont like the Federer comparison with Pete
Yes he is the one who is succeeding him more so becoz no one is even a worthly coompetitor or rival to him, those of his age group, Safin, Hewitt, roddick etc are all fading away & may have already played their best
younger crop like bagdatis, nadal, gasquet, djokvic are still young & need to grow & improve their consistency.
Nadal had a great season last years but was overshadowed by Federer
it is too much to ask of him to complete with Fed at 19, he is already causing him all sort of problems.
Others need to stand up & be coutned, stop being to complimentary & respectful to him, take Haas for example.

I give up on these guys, they has no back bones at all, Nadal need to stay healthy, he alone seem to know what to do to Roger, only a pity.   :wavey:
